All you are doing is using your tv as a monitor,m8:respect-055:

I have the Logitech Di Novo Edge keyboard and an htpc, i used the tv for surfing and watching movies on it.Was great for accessibility while sitting on the sofa :)
For now i removed it and im using the DM8000 for this purpose.

I just connect with S-Video and a 3.5 jack for sound. I bought a cordless mouse for about a tenner and I use that on the coffee table by the settee so I can crash out. Movies stream fine, as does BBC i-player.
Mate, I dont think you will need to connect via svideo as you simply need to connect the DSUB ( connection where the monitor goes on the back of your PC ) to the LCD TV ( the connection that is plugged into the current monitor ).
Then get a fly lead ( headphone jack to headphone jack ) and connect it between the PC audio out and your TV audio In.
The last thing to do is then use the AV select on your new TV remote to select the PC input or RGB and you should be up and running.

Mission accomplished, good work :respect-040:
I occaisionally connect my laptop with HDMI as mentioned previously, then I used a bluetooth 'logitech mediaboard pro' to control the laptop from the comfort of my settee. That works well as the board has a built in mouse pad too. Normally the mediaboard pro is sold specifically for PS3 use but it works fine with the PC/laptop too.

I think you will find S-Video ans a 3.5 jack is the cheapest and best option.
