if you look at the picon filename it will probably be something like xxxxx_11A0000_xxxxx.png.
now if you look at your lamedb services file, your channels will have 11C0000 in there, so you need to rename the picons to xxxxx_11C0000_xxxxx.png
that is what i did using a batch rename app and it worked.
hope that helps.

Well I tried to get this going as well without success, perhaps someone can provide the basic skinny on how to do it for a fairly new user like myself (I have not been able to find any kind of manual or instruction on this).

First off, I found the setting to turn the LCD picons on - and the library under enigma2 where they are supposed to go. However, using the standard picons, they don’t seem to display, so I am wondering if they should be in some special format.

As for the infobar picons, I can’t find any place to turn them on, so I recon they are on by default, but where are they supposed to go? It would be great to have that info for Hard disk, USB stick and on the internal DM800 memory.

As for the naming, where can one find the right names? In the lamedb-file, there are also the actual channel names, and that is what I have seen others say they name their picon-files, is that wrong?

Any help clearing this bit up would be much appreciated! Cheers!

Thanks for your reply, but the file names in lamedb xxxxx_11A0000_xxxxx.png. are the same as in the picons '11A0000'.

Do you have DarkHole ? I thikn you do if your running the EPG ... then do this.

If you have a USB STick attached to your DM800 then we will select the picons for this.

Press GREEN --> Yellow button on remote --> Then select Addons Download Manager -->Enigma2 Picons Packages - select Picons for downloading to USB is you have or CF and select the Sky UK channels (Nabilsat)
This will install the Picons for you in the rright places all you do is reboot!

Just hoping you run Nabilsat image!

Ive updated mine see there is a "Version HD SKin only Picon - which gives a bigger image on the display also on the LCD.

I think I have now tried most things, but I cannot get it to work.

Since my channels aren’t in any of the downloadable packs (Scandinavia), I have to install them myself. First I installed a pack of HD-picons and of LCD-picons from the download-site just to see where they go.

After doing that (and finding the infobar picons end up in media/usb/picon and the LCD picons in the pre-existing LCDpicon library in usr/share/enigma2/lcdpicon) - I tired naming my own files both after the channel name (which works in other images) and after the names I found in the lamdb-file. I have LCD icons enabled, but neither worked, so if anyone can give some kind of pointers on how to name and install picons for nabilo 0.6 on DM800 - that would be great.

I have tried renaming the picons from the downloaded packages (that I know are the right format) - but still can’t get them to display on my channels so the problems appears to be with the naming (or perhaps I have missed some way to turn infobar picons on).

Here is from my lamedb:

I am running Nabilosat Enigma2 Black Hole-DM800 v0.6 posted here 29.12.08. I have connected a USB stick and downloaded the Picons for USB, I got the confirmation that it had installed, however there was nothing on the USB stick. I think I will reflash the img.
Thanks Montyboy

You do not need to reboot after you install the picons. It is not necessary, just change channel and they will display.

May be the picons you created are not in the right format
They must be PNG, 256 colours, 8BPP, 70x53
