Problems with ext USB drive

HI, mvision hd200, sw vers a1.0a, having some problems with recording to an external 160gb USB2 harddrive (formatted to FAT32).

1/ can view files on the drive, and update sw , channel lists with it. but cannot delete recordings - nothing happens when pressing the blue button.

2/ if using a longer lead (1mtr) when recording, the receiver just states 'checking usb' and hangs there. but can see the files already on + some recording files at 0kb.

3/ when using the shorter lead (20cm), can begin a recording but then the screen goes green after 4 seconds and recording has hung, have to switch off by on/off switch - then playback fails.

4/ trying to format it via accessory usb menu, but taking an awful long time.

any suggestions - would a firmware update do the trick ?

this should sort out most of the problems.

no, haven't got the latest firmware yet. But after playing about with it a while I think it may be a duff usb lead. Tried another lead and works ok (only tried 5 mins). Going to record a couple of hours of BBC HD, to see how that goes. Dont want to update firmware yet until I am more familiar with the unit etc - because I always say 'if it aint broke, why fix it'

ok, recording failed after about 15 mins, playback failed as well. updated firmware to 02.10 (official) and tryiing again. Noticed straight away additions to menu for smart card, rs 232 connections and timer/epg record functions.

So, on version 2.10 - it recorded a whole 2 hours of BBC HD (well 1hr, 59min and 50 secs), playback ok (didnt have time to sit the whole way through), not jumpy or jerky and full ac3 audio.

You must install the latest firmware 3.18 , everything works ok !

Hi, am now on F3.18 firmware, everything looing good apart from the lac of ITV HD

Not able to recieve ITVHD at the moment it comes up and scrambled channel, see this post
