Hi All

Got an annoying problem at the moment with the DM800. I have a "popular" card locally in my receiver and sharing with brother. On HD channels my reception is breaking up really bad, but my brothers is perfect! If anything I would have thought it would be the other way around, as I've got the card locally.

Has anyone got any advice? The breakup seems to be around every 20-30 seconds, which is annoying as a subscriber. I've checked the signal strength and it's fine.

I'm using Gemini 3.8, CCCam 2.10, Newcs 1.62.

Cheers

Hi Again!

I've just spotted something and hope someone can shine a light on it for me.

On going into Satfinder in the menu, if I look at any of the predefined transponders I have a signal strength of between 24 and 25, if I go to a transponder with a symbol rate of 29500, I lose signal strength altogether!! So, when I do a channel search if finds the channels on 29500 but seems to show them breaking up!! Unfortunately for me, my most watched channels have a symbol rate of 29500 and not the usual 27500:confused:

PLEASE, can someone point me in the right direction:o11:

Cheers

This could be a case of poor signal. The dish you are using is not spot on.

HD channels do not have any room for BER. With SD channels you can get away with weak signals.

Cheers for the reply. What is BER? I've seen it on the receiver but until you mentioned it never thought anything of it.

BER

Bit Error Rate (more is bad .. less is good)
