I guess it's time to move the discussions on the new Azbox HD over to it's real forum.

I live in American and cant wait to get my hands on one that works over here, especially the Premium.

Hi mate, when you have had a play around with it, would you please let us know what you think of it.

The main things that I would like to know are:

What is the picture quality like on SD/HD?

Is the tuner sensitive compared to say the dreambox?

What major bugs / issues have you discovered?

Well i am testing it but not hard enough because lack of time..
I tryed playing mkv files, and biggest problem i found is that DTS Audio isnt working :(((, a big big minus for me. Second option is that subtitle in separate file like .srt (moive.mkv movie.srt <-- this should be playable). Then it seems that I cant disable subtitle which is in mkv file...
I connected my Elite to AV Reciver (Onkyo 606) over HDMI cable...

Did you try convert the MKV file to same format as will play on a PS3?

Nop I didnt and i am not thinking to do it...
Good question would be: Did AZBOX payed DTS licence at all???
Sigma chip can it but if they didnt pay it, DTS cant work. OR is some problem on sw when using HDMI connection. Tomorrow i will try spdif out to try get DTS working on my AV reciver...

Hey

I am also thinking of buying it. Most sigma chip devices will output dts directly to the receiver over spdif / toslink. They will only have to pay for the licence if they want to be able to downsample it. In the current situation only the popcornhour a110 can do this, all the others can't.

So probably the azbox will not be able to downsample it, but will have it passed through.

My main question before buying is, how is the software development? Do you have the feeling there will be major updates to sort problems like you mentioned with the srt files, and does dts indeed work through toslink /spdif?

To get audio working i needed to do this in Audio/Video Settings:
Default Audio Format: AC3;Audio Output: Stereo; Dolby Output: Compressed.
Its working fine now. Playback of .mkv from USB HDD or from network is working fine.
If the Blindscan is Automatic Scan then yea its working fine, and its fast to.. Just select Satalit from list (i have Astra and Hotbird only) and its done very fast...

No as i dont have that astra, i just have Astra 19.2 and Hotbird 13.0.
