DM500 M2+ and Newcs

Hi

Thanks to Keano I have now stopped the M2+ stalling in my DM500 using NewCS 1.13 and Mgcamd1.31.

My question is probably a bit silly but I cant find the answer anywhere.

The thing is that whilst NewCS works to clear the M2 I dont actually want to card share and Id like to be sure that Im not. I understand that in order to share I need to be connected to a server (which Im obviously not) but what I cant see when looking at newcsrc6.xml is if I have compromised the security of my reciever as a result of running Newcs. I guessing that I havent but I dont know this. So is there anything I need to do to be certain that I an secure and not beaming out all my details to everyman and his dog?

Im not very experience with the Dreambox or linux but I get by.

Any help appreciated.

LOL yeah that would work and probably the only truly safe solution.

But seriously though....

The PLI Jade Image has a fire wall which can be turned off or on, and does seem (in my quick tests) to block access into to the box

And IMHO as a bonus its one of the better images to use.

Yeah I hadnt thought of that. Im using Edg Nemesis which I think has a firewall too. I might have a look at the Pli image though.
