problem connect to internet

hi friends
i tried to connect the dm500 to the internet
i configured i think correctly the router
i put ip for dreambox 192.168.0.9
in the network configuration i diselected dhcp, put the ip
netmask 255.255.255.0
nameserver 216.104.63.7 (i don't know if it is correct)
gateway 192.168.1.1 (i don't know if it is correct)

i try to download from the menus ( pli image) and says that there is no connection
i did ping and it is ok i think

please help

OK, your router is 192.168.1.1 [ I am gussing ]
Dreambox 192.168.1.9
Netmask 255.255.255.0
Nameserver 192.168.1.1
gateway 192.168.1.1

You need to keep everything on the same ip range as your router

If your dream box is 192.168.0.9 then the odds are that your gateway (router) should be 192.168.0.1

Do as sonic1 said and it will all be ok ...... soon :D

thats exactly what i do mate,but ive also created a number of static routes inside my router so the router will always asign the same ip's to the same equipment.so my dreambox always remains fixed
at 192.168.0.3 and my main gaming pc at 192.168.0.2 ect,ect.this way when i connect with any laptop it doesnt steel a piece of equipments ip thats not turned on.
if you dont do this and say turn on a laptop before your dreambox,the chances are that the laptop will have the ip that you have set your dreambox too inside your image,and you will never get the dreambox online,for the time that the laptop is turned on.

As Ian Says... and if you want to take advantage of the Engima Web Interface or Dcc and so on, then you can have them set up with out needing to find the boxes ip.
