800 keeps switching off

I have just bought a clone 800 from that auction site. I am running Nablio blackhole 06 in flash.

After the box has been on for around 20 mins or so it just knocks off, nothing on the display, just the ethernet lights on at the rear.

If I unplug for 5 mins all returns ok.

I suspect I have been sold a dud box!:9898:

Clones are usually a waste of money.

There`s no HDD in there and its in an open space, so shouldnt over heat.

I don't think it's faulty, I think the problem is it's a clone mate.

Doesn't the latest secondstage bootloader have a clone checker now?

Instead of killing bootloaders, this time, I think they've gone for a more subtle approach.

Only if you use the latest barry allen and use images containing bootloaders 70.

I think v6 used bootloader 70 mate. I remember it came out just after the pureflash version. This is taken from v6 image thread.

You can load any old image and load the bootloader seperatley. What about nablio v5 or v3 then load bootloader 69. Lt images as you have said. Gemani maybe?? Pli image.

Yes, x5 is quite right. As I mentioned somewhere else :D, you can install v07 to flash, and install just secondstage #69.
But I am not sure it is a long term solution. I am afraid at some point you will not be able to use the new images anymore.
But for time being, you can enjoy Nabilosat v07 with that solution.

No, image developers have nothing to do with this. Nabilosat images are made by hobbysts. We do not bother whether they run on clones. But if they do not run on clones, it is not Nabilosat fault.

You must learn that the images are developed on a basis, called CVS, which is developed by DMM.
Updated images are developed on compiled updates of CVS. If the new CVS includes features that will not run on clones, developers cannot stop it. They can only stop development, and you stay with an old image.

Do you know that new versions of Barry Allen are checking your MAC address ? Do you know that this is clone detection system ? Do you know that these versions of BA will stop working if they detect a clone ?

ok, looking further into the clone issue, I now think it is an original, as the

lower casing is the same as the clones.

All inside components etc are the same as the original!

i would be suprised if you got a original dm800 off the auction site for 250 especially when they are new and like gold dust atm because of the weak £

Well guys I don't want to rub it in:respect-044: but it is an original, silver power pack,

glue on sim, chip on pcb of modem, no heat sink.

Fitted a fan and its running sweet as a nut with Barry Allen and nab 07 on USB.

Its the 2nd dreambox bargain I've had, as I only paid £200 for my 7025 with 2x dvb s tuners, he also threw in another 4 receivers from Echostar to koan.
