SD card copying?

In my TM 9100 I currently have EDG 4.2 on my SD card. If I bought another SD card, could I put my current SD in my SD card reader and copy it? Would this work do you think?

You would of thought it might of worked in theory but if your going to copy the sd card in your computer would the computer read the card in the first place. Don't they use a different format thats why when you fist install an sd or usb drive on the linux boxs they format them.

How long does it take to backup 1 image with jiboot? I am trying to backup my image but it's taken over 10 mintues so far? The program just seems to hang.
