great find m8, pity about the scoreline again. owen off injured and barton, no given or n'zogbia. ashley back.......can it get any worse.

Not Much, it looks like Given will be joining Man City before the window closes, Nzogbia does want to be at the Toon, so they may as well get rid of him and Owen, as Owen will walk away on a free at the end of the season, get as much as they can for those 3 and get some players that want to play for the Toon. Just my opinion of the current state of affairs at the moment as it doesn't seem as though Ashley is going to give Kinnear a great deal to spend, or they would have done so by now.

SHAY GIVEN is set to join Manchester City today in an £8.5million deal.

The Newcastle keeper had a medical on Tuesday and was left out of last night’s clash with Mark Hughes’ men.

A Newcastle spokesman claimed the player had an injured right knee.

But the Republic of Ireland star, a Toon stalwart for 11 years, made it clear to Joe Kinnear that he wanted a move and the manager eventually caved in.

Given is expected to sign a contract worth £86,000 a week.

Meanwhile Wigan have made a £6m move for Newcastle’s French midfielder Charles N’Zogbia.
