Hi
Jim Dale,
I Have a Hummy HD2000. Good Kit.
I Just bought a second HD STBox, a Passion + from ******s
at (£159). also bought a external HDD (£39) 250gb storage.
Thats what the (+) in passion stands for, a Hard Drive recorder.
Its just as good as the hummy for loading a Sat Channel list, and
Compatible with Diablo and Dragon Cams.

The hdxsci : 1 . 00 . 11 allows you to scan the hd channels on thor with a symbol rate of 30000.... that is the only firmware number that can register this value on the hummy hd2000.... all the others cannot...
Its easy to load yourself I did it (null modem serial cable and programme ) but better to get the vendor to do it for you before shipment....

This is the Software for the Box..so to say the Operating System..
there are Originals released from the Makers and Alternative ones to be Found on Many Boards (if they are available for your Box) which are used for Educational Purposes...!!
Called Firmware for short F/W or Software for short S/W
The Version mentioned is probably one with a Fix for the 30000 S/R = Symbol Rate.
Cheers;)

Is the Diablo Cam Light 2.3 working with the latest UW 1.59? Many people report that diablo is not working with HUMAX HD receivers (HDCI 2000, iCord,...)?
What about a channel editing on the HDCI 2000? Is it possible to found a latest channel list on the internet and load it to the HUMAX HDCI 2000?

Diablo works fine in hummy HDCI2000. Did not load a channel list as it scans unwanted channel,,, go king of sat site,,, locate the sat u want and then scroll down to the channel u want and load it manually,,,, takes time but does not clutter the box with unwanted channels

It appears that Humax does not give support for this box. But then again they do not get behind any of their boxes. I only ever owned one and it is my last Humax ever. There are so many better boxes out there. Remember the motto;;; Up to a standard or down to a price. TMULL

Hi scomedal,
You should have a look at (Laurals53) Sat List for the HDCI2000.
Its made for the Diablo cam and just about the best with ITV HD,
BBC HD, Channel 4 and 5 on 28e (Astra 1).
It has Telenor on Thor @ (0.8w) under the sat Title (Thor), then
if you need Digitv @ (1w) its under the Sat Title (Intelsat 707).
707 is at 1w, not 53.

Take my advice and stay well away from the Humax HDCI-2000. Look instead at something like the Technomate 6800HD.
Humax HDCI-2000 cannot be patched with 3rd party software, has a crap picture via HDMI (too dark), useless channel editing software, sometimes gives 'boot' problems on start-up which need the box to be switched off and on to get it going again etc etc.

You have been warned!

Hi Bbigfoot,
I have all the channels listed above except ITVHD - cannel 4 & 5....
As I mentioned earlier I only scan the channels I want ( useing king of sat ) so as not to clutter the box,,
sats scanned.-
THOR canaldigital
INTELSAT 707 digitv
HOTBIRD the usual
ASTRA 1 orf
16 EAST digitalb
ASTRA 2 bbc & itv
8W cannot see this sat for trees
So I have plenty to choose from!
Otherwise I know of laurels 53 DXDY mentioned it to me last year...
THANKS

has a crap picture via HDMI (too dark)

D.
Plug & play, does not mean that you do not have to fine tune something or another!!!!!!!!
Try adjusting the TELLY!!
I did, crisp picture and pleaseing colours, even from sd channels, using HDMI............

I can assure you that my telly is fine tuned, thank you.
It's a FACT that many users of this box complain of a too dark image via HDMI on all softwares above version 1.04, a fact reported on many different forums all over the net.

The humax HD 2000CI was my first HD box and still gives the best picture quality in HD/SD, this is compared to my other HD boxes, i.e. Foetec passion, Homcast 5101 HD, Technomate 6900 super and Hivion ultima. I give these a try now and again to update them but always return to using the Humax, even though it can be alittle quirky, but no more than other boxes.

Hi scomedal,
To Scan (Change) in ITV HD and Chann 4 & 5.
Download laurals53 list (L53 12 september 08).
Load L53 into (Formula for HD) after you have Uploaded
you Channel list From your HD2000 into Formula for HD.
Formula for HD will let you open both at the same time.
eather Copy and paste, or change the sids and Pids of
Channel 4 and 5 into your own list (Pick a channel you dont us
on 28e to use. Not shure about ITV HD, Its a bit more technical then just
changing Pids. When you open L53 you will see a lot more channels
to Copy into your list.
@denis1501...Your rite about the HDMI picture being
to dark (who wants to keep changing the contrast).
This will brighten up the HDMI (But only with 576p HD).
Connect the HDCI2000 to your screen with a
Component lead (£6.99 at ASDA).
The thing is the component will only give you a HD picture
of (576p), but the advantage is, you can ZOOM a HD Signal
up to Full Screen (No black bars top and bottom), and to be
quite Honest, their"s not much of a Picture Quality changge.
Well not after a couple of Pints.

I have not had any problems with the picture being too dark. This did happen with some of the official firmwares on some tv sets.
Version 1.00.11 is still the best for diablo.

Hi, I have had an HDCI2000 for about 2 years and I have been very pleased with it. I have just bought a Humax HDR PVR. I have it hooked up to my motorised dish and a dragon cam connected so that I can use it for casual viewing (freesat) or search the sat's in non-freesat mode. You can record HD to the hard disc and also archive via the USB port. Like the HDCI2000 it is a bit quirky, but so far so good!

Hi Jim Dale,
If thats your choice, there"s a little glitch with the HD2000
if you have a Sony screen, (well in my case).
The SD Scart (RGB) picture was unstable (Picture waving horizonally).
FIX is, change Colour System to (Secam) in Sony.
For the same price (£199) you could have a new setup with
the (Fortec Star passion +) plus a HDD 250gb Recorder (£159 & £39) at
******s.
One advantage the Passion has over the Hummy with my Setup (80cm Dish)
is, the Passion pulls in Digitalb (16e) with a Sig Quality of 35%. as against
16% Sig Quality (Black Screen) with the Hummy HD2000.

I think i'll save up for a dreambox 800 hd because whats the point in buying a cheep satbox when you could have the best a dreambox plus there's a load of guys working on them, jim dale
Quite impressed with my Humax HDCI-2000 other than on one point:
Anyone else discovered they're completely incompatible with the whole Matrix series of CAMs ? :07:
...and anyone like to report what other CAMS they might be incompatible with ?

Just adding my exp The humax hdci2000 is incompatable with the diablo wifi on firmwares 10007 ,10010,10015and 10016 it will clear channels on the cccam function but only if you turn the box off then on from the back(Having chosen the channel you want before turning off the reciever). Im now leaning more towards the DM800 FTA Satellite Receiver HDTv Chinese 280 quid closer to 300 if pre loaded. We have in the house a technom8 that reciever i can say does work with the diablo wifi changing channel in less than a second on cccam
