Since some of the stuff seems to be compatible between both, and having never seen a clarke tech box, are clarke tech and technomate the same boxes but rebadged?

yes , but they use different firmware

so you cannot use technomate firmware on the clarke , or vice versa

but you can probably use the loaders , the softcams and maybe the channel lists

its highly likely they are made in the same factories , and use a lot of the same stuff inside , but they are not identical twins

There are some differences. Just a couple of points..... The TM patches do not work on the CTs BUT the softcams do. The TM '2004 - switch patch on / off' doesn't seem to work on CT. My comments only relate to my experience with 1 receiver from each of the companies. I look forward to reading other comments in this thread.
