Hy
I Have a Kaon for cable tv with following details:
Model: K-E2270CO
Info: 10.05.22-D511
S/W: V01.07.03
H/W: V3E.11.95
Loader: V1.1.4
Micom: V1.1.7
I've searching info's for quite a few days now but I don't find anything for this specific device.
Is it possible to install a softcam on this device?
Does it have another way, how I get my Nagra Keys on this device?
Would it be possible to programm a funcard with the Nagra keys and use it in this box or can I just use conax cards?
Just use the Conax card that your provider supplies you, and it will work.

I know but... wana play a little ;-)
See what is possible with this device...
And I have the card working in my Dreambox.
You want to share with us how you did get this going in the DB?

@tuyo
how do you mean?
install cccam and insert card... worked out of the box
thanks DR,
I belief that you are also active on some German forums. Did you try cardsharing? Is yours a DB-800?

Yes, i have a DM-800 in use with a original Conax card from my provider.
No, I din't try CS yet... I think it would be a little bit complicated with the Kaon.
As the Kaon just has a RS232 and i couldn't find any suitable FW for it, I would have to build a fake Smartcard that has network access and emulate the original smartcard but sending requests to my DB and answer like an original smartcard to the Kaon.
I got the Kaon for free from my provider, thats why i wana see whats possible and how i could make use of the receiver...
For the DB to work with that smart card you would also need a cardserver program like NewCs, Radegast or other. Which one are you using?
I know that NewCs requires a boxkey to work, how did you get the boxkey?
And by the way the Kaon 270 does not have a RS232 port as far as I know.

As said in earlier post... I'm using cccam as cardserver.
A Boxkey is just needed if your provider says that it's illegal to use other boxes than the ones you get from them and restrict the use... luckily my provider says that I can use the box I like, he just doesn't give support and I would be selfresponsible if it doesn't work.
That means it's legal to use a Dreambox on my Network (If I have the Original Card).
On the back of the box, there is a RS232 interface... could be that it is proprietary but i think it's a serial interface.
