for some reason i have never been able to flash my box via my web browser, albeit IE, FF or chrome they all bug out
only method i flash the dm800 is with null modem cable, when i first flashed i had an option for flash erase, but now i do not i only have flash
I have been having a few problems with my dm800 so i wanted to flash, now when i goto flash there is no such option so when i flash the image, i still have all the junk left over which seems to be causing enigma to crash and be unstable, so i would like to be able to erase flash and do a new image in flash without any old left overs
but the dreamup is no longer giving me the erase option?
anyone got any clue to why this would be happening, or a clue on what i need to delete off the dm800 so it uses the new flash settings rather than any old stuff..
ideally would like to flash erase tho but that doesnt seem possible?
many thanks

Hi techmob
it's strange that you cant get the DB to flash an image via the default method ie via the internet, and even to the fact you've never beeen able to.
i'm not doubting your ability to do this operation, but give me the step by step method you used and let's see what we can find, if all is ok i'd suggest you think about returning the box as it might be faulty.

i have two dm800, one which was setup at my dads which was no problem by the traditional method via the browser
put power in, hold power button wait for ip and stop message
goto ip in browser, click upgrade firmware, select nfi file (FLASH)
job done...
with my dm800 at my house on two different computers, it just does not work, also even with serial cable, using the network i was able to upload the image but then it stalls on flash via the network error
so only way is doing it the 57 minute way and that is by serial only...
i just need a clean flash install, i want to make sure enigma is clean and no left over settings from previous install... i am flashing nabilosat 0.7 now and will then do a factory reset, maybe this will remove old stuff?
if that fails , i will revert back to a cvs and then do a recovery on bad sectors as advised on another site, just to see what it will do..
you can appreciate tho it takes probably 1 hour per flash via serial :S

When you flash a new image on the 800 there is nothing to erase, it is not like the 500 or 7000.
If I were you I would remove USB, HDD, DVI cable and the sat coax.
Have just the power pluged in and the try flashing with your serial cable.
I would use OoZoon 10.01.09.
The one from 07.0.2.09 is cvs 2.5 not 2.6 so all new images will not work correctly on Barry Allen if you use it.

currently got things up and running with nabilosat 0.7 i will see how it goes for now
reasons i started again was
the scart was still outputting video in standby (box was getting quite hot and i think that was a factor because for some reason it could never go in full standby)
i found the box rebooting itself.....
there must be other things but i forget right now lol...
will see how it goes
thanks

using two diff pcs at my house with same problem.. my dads pc worked on his box, not tried mine on his
flashing by serial isnt a problem just a hindrance really
all seems ok now, just cant get the hardrive into standby unless i tell it to...
using a Western Digital Scorpio WD3200BEVT 320GB 2.5" Internal SATA Hard Drive and nabilosat 0.7
temp is normally about 47c
everytime i check the status its running....

you can flash with web interface.looks like you are holding wrong buttons for ip.switch d.box off.turn on and hold the up or down buttons till ip address shows.and then write the ip address shown in your dream box.in you fire fox comp page the web interface will appear and download flash

DM800 only has 1 button m8 so you can't get it wrong.
Maybe a DHCP problem or like techmob say's a box's problem.
