I'm interested in getting a zone 2 dish and hooking a motor on, reason being that it won't look odd with the other dishes in my area.

I'm only interested in 28.2, 13, 19 and 9e, which I think is not going to be a problem. Maybe in future with the new 16e sat I should be able to pick that up too.

Has anybody got any pointers? Obviously not being able to pick up 1w I cant use that as reference, which one should I set optimal for? I also read that the LNB skew needs to be adjusted - any pointers here?

cheerz in advance

ps I'm in east lancashire, uk

A zone 2 dish isn't as bad as you think... give it a try.

However as simon says.. theres no (or not a lot of point)

Hi hm2075,

Whats the problem with 1w.
A Zone 1 S*y dish (35cm) picks Up all your Sats.
It also picks Up 1w with a Signal Quality on the HD Channels of 81%.
The Rule with a motorised system is (LNB In line with Dish) No
scew left or right.

I used one when I did the Lincoln Amatuer Radio Rally last September used a @sat motor got Thor Digi TV on it and most of the other Satellites I use a ISS 60cm solid on a motorise for people who do not want bigger dishes on the front and get most stuff :respect-059:

i thought 80 was minimum

Maybe... but a zone 2 still works ok'ish

Just for an experiment I put a zone 2 on 1W from S/W Scotland and got better results than expected for viewing with a diablo .. And yes an 80 and a 85 elliptical gave better dBi, but the zone 2 did give better gain than expected on the transponders that mattered... so try it, it costs no extra.

Hi AJR,

When you say (1w) do you mean (Intersat -10-02 @1w).
Or is it Thor @ 0.8w.
AJR when you moved to 1W, has your Channel List both
0.8w and (1w Digitv) on the same Satellite position.
If yes what Sig Quality did you receive on Digitv"S (DigiFilm 1). With
my Zone 1 dish (35cm Dish) I pickup DigiFilm1 with,
30% Sig Quality....21% Signal strength.

Yes and no...

One receiver had both listed and I had to scan both, The other one scanned all the transponders as one.

I really can't remember... I could go and swing the zone 2 back to 1W but it will have to wait untill the weekend (Zone 2 is now fixed for the sky+ box so her in doors doesn't miss recording of the soaps)
