Hello all,
Trying to flash a new image to my box -

Just tried using Dream*p and got the following message after switching the box on -

`Is not a valid interger value`

Any ideas?

what image you trying to flash?

Are you absolutely sure you've got the correct version for your box, ie your not using an 8000 image for a 800.

I`m using the pureflash image put up by Sonic for nab black hole ver0.9

I`ve tried powering up with the power button held in, and also without, but I get the same error each time?

you've really stumped me here mate, the only time i had booting problemslike this was way back when i had a 7000 and that was the bootloader screwed, i'm not saying that's the problem here though.....i just really dont know.

Thanks for the advice so far.

If it is a bootloader problem, would it be repairable? (I`m guessing as its not connecting then the answer to that question is no?)

I`ve got Blackhole onboard, although I`m not sure which version (any ideas on how I can find out the BH version number?) so I guess I will just have to put up with it, I seem to have all BH functionality and have been able to download and use pluggins.
CCcam is working fine (as is the thing we can`t talk about on here), so I guess if I can`t connect I just won`t be able to benefit from any future upgrades (without taking it Dream for a repair)

If you think of anything that might help (or if anyone thinks of anything that may be of help) I`d appreciate the imput.

Thanks again so far

What happens when you try to connect to the box using something else...

Like FlashWiz... or DCC

Take a look at THIS (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showpost.php?p=599470&postcount=7) post.
Forget Flashwiz as it is not compatible.

Try removing and unplugging everything from your box before you start to flash and I mean everything { HDD, USB,DVI cable }
Just plug in the power and the network cable.

Thanks sonic, but won`t I need the USB stick to be able to load in Barry Allen? or does it give me the chance to plug a stick in before proceeding?

Thanks for the advice so far.

As a test remove the USB, it could be the problem!!

If you can flash with out it then try flashing with it.
BA will not install if you don't have a USB or HDD installed.
If you wish to add it afterwards then you can:king-041:

Ok, disconnected everything (even opened the box to disconnect the SATA HDD), just left power/network/seriel cable in, but still the same error message?

I`m using Vista on my PC and it does not seem to have Hyperterminal?

Ok, just accessed my Hub settings on the network and set a Static IP for the DB.

What should I try next?

Do you have a router that can give an IP via DCHP ?
To give the dreambox a fixed IP you need to follow the link from DMM

My router does allow IP via DHCP and I currently have DHCP enabled

When you say `follow the link from DMM` I`m lost

The link from DMM gives detail on how to set a static ip to your DM if you can not get DCHP to work, if you don't have hyperterminal on your pc do you access to another pc ?
Or maybe another network to try and flash your box ?
