Go for usb to sata or ide enclosure, then you can put whatever size hard drive you want in it. Most will work seagate, western digital, maxtor, hitachi etc

eSATA WD does not work, USB does.
It is not always working. Have to swith of the mains on both. Applying mains to 6900 HD Combo super, switch it on and then swithing power on to the WD My Book home edtion 500, seems to work now everytime. Have now switches on both mains. Saves energy to.
patched to 672p for the TM 6900 HD Super Series only. Don't use this on a 6900

And you have to reformat the USB disc with the Technomate Utility on a PC and not on the box (is not recognised):
On there website in the support section is a do***ent: How to Format a Hard Disc HDD when you click on the brief manual you download the utility and brief instruction (used from command prompt XP)

WD my passport is excellent, very compact and just powers up through the usb and receiver my only gripe is you need to reformat the disk to fat32 but there is a program that does it easily enough, just check out the forums. :respect-050:

I use a IOMEGA 360gb, already formatted with FAT32, try C*M*T I believe they are selling for less than £50. Working perfect on my Technomate 6900 super.

I've been reading this thread and wonder if anyone can help. I've purchased a Maxtor 1.5 Terabyte storage USB drive, which I have formatted this on my PC to FAT32. The unit works fine after two or three shut offs of the Technomate receiver (not the power) but then will not work - screen states "USB drive is not ready" and if I do a check disk it says "Check disk failed". Does any one know if there is any remedy other than changing the Maxtor unit?
