Hi, I am a bit confused, whats the difference between the two uploads?
OK, thanks,
harshy
Look at the date of drivers
20090306
20090310
I think what harshy is saying is do you load both drivers or are they same but one is an upgrade of the other. So you only load the latest dated one?
and what do they improve?
cheers
wwe
ok this is a very important info for all that have a sky uk card
DM800 is now capable to read sky card from the internal card reader without the need of using NEWCS
tested just now with CCcam2.0.11 works fine and fast zapping :king-041:
load the lasted drivers 10/03/2009 put your card in the slot reboot your dreambox and its read

Hello all,
I am running a GP2 v 4.1 image. I uploaded the file in tmp, and tried a manual install.
I got an error message saying
"

Any clues?

Hmmm, I installed the secondstage bootloader 72r1. I then tried again to install the drivers and they installed without errors. I don't know what went wrong the first time. Anyway!

changes in both drivers: - working on dvb-t tuner initialisation problems - demux "feed_cb but filter not GO" bug fixed (i.e. this fixes frequently crashes on cyfrowy polsat channels) additional changes in dm800 drivers: - allow playback of radio services with invalid pcr data or non pcr data in pcr pid additional changes in dm8000 drivers: - reset no more responding CIs (this fixes the problem with no more working CI after long standby period)

Please can somebody explain how I can un-install the latest driver, I installed it manually as an IPK file.
I would now like to install this latest update but can't see within my DM800 where this can be done.
Is it possible? or is just a case of installing the previous driver again.
Cheers,
Kev

Not quite sure what you mean. with the ipk file I have posted you simply install manually and overwrite the existing drivers.
Once done carry out a hard reset.

16-06-2009, 12:20 PM
Not sure how it will work as I have never tried but you could try installing the previous drivers.
I have the new drivers and latest secondstage bootloader on Nabilo BH 0.10 and it works a charm.
Have you got the latest second stage installed ?
kemik
16-06-2009, 12:44 PM
For clarification as I'm no expert here
Do these updates have to be installed in any particular order?
Do the latest updates include updates from the previous packages or do you need to install them all to get the full update?
Can someone provide a step-by-step newbie guide on how to manually install please?
Many thanks
sonic1
16-06-2009, 12:59 PM
No particualr order needed as far as I am concerned.
For the record I replaced the drivers in the flash image and then a hard reboot, replaced the secondstage bootloader in the flash and then a hard reboot.
I then did exactly the same with BH0.10 which I run on USB.
For me the box boots quicker and I feel it zaps channels quicker as well.
Istallation is easy, ftp to tmp and carry out a manual installation or use
the tools within DCC to install ipk packages which again does all the work for you.

My terminology is never very good with these things but it is basically part of the operating system that works in conjunction with the drivers and the firmware.
You have to understand that the DM800 and DM8000 like many box's are really still beta but are stable enough for us to use.
I personally install every update and have always seen improvements.
The latest secondstage bootloader has improved the boot time of the box considerably if you compare it to 9 months ago when I got my box.
I personally test almost all the plugins and updates I post for the 800 and any image, plugin or addon such as Barry Allen I always download from the author to make sure it has been tested and will not cause a problem to my box or anyone else's.
All image are always direct from the team and not other boards.
So never worry about updates unless you see reports from me or other members here that always keep things bang up to date.

- DVB-S2 on Alps-Tuner with SR=30000 on DVB-S2 transponder was fixed,
- vtuner: POLLHUP was changed to POLLIN, if you're using this,
please update your tool,
- vtuner: PVR playback now works together with vtuner
- DM8000/DM800: muted some noises while zapping channels. Due to a
workaround for Harman-Kardon-Receivers, noises when switching between
DTS and PCM might occur, we are investigating for a better fix.
- DM8000: ALSA playback was improved,
- 2D accel now support palettes - this will fix DVB Subtitles on HD-
Skins with recent enigma2,
- "dvbnet" was disabled previously, and is enabled now.
- DM800: some more checks

Installed the 29102009 drivers this morning, and since then I noticed that I haven't been able to view the hd channels on astra 28.2 (not sure about others as haven't checked the other sats yet, and since little one is in bed with the satellite outside his window, don't wanna wake him up). I know it was working fine at the weekend, but can't remember last time I tried checking since then. But have only changed something today (as in the drivers).
I then updated to today's drivers (05112009), and it's still the same. I just tried re-scanning the channels, and nothing's coming through on those channels.
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed same things?! Rebooted box a few times, and nothing...
Cheers :)

No, unless you want to brick your box.
You should use the last drivers which you bootloader can handle

What about if one was using the patched BlackHole 012 image which has the hacked bootloader so it appears as 75?
Anyone tried installing the latest drivers on that?
I accidendly tried offical drivers when my clone had bootloader 72 and just got the old CA error message. Just had to use Dream-up software to bring it back to life.
Was not bricked.
Just scared to try it now its got BL75 incase it does it again as it took ages to re-config my box last time.

What is difference between three driver files?
Your attached file -
dreambox-dvb-modules_2[1].6.12-5.1-brcmstb-dm800-20100414-r0_dm800.ipk - 1 452 020 bytes.
On dreamboxupdate com - Experimental (opendreambox-1.5) -
dreambox-dvb-modules_2.6.12-5.1-brcmstb-dm800-20100414-r0_dm800.ipk - 1 452 028 bytes.
On dreamboxupdate com - Release (opendreambox-1.5) -
dreambox-dvb-modules_2.6.12-5.1-brcmstb-dm800-20100414-r0_dm800.ipk - 1 452 028 bytes.

I have no idea where you are looking but the file I have posted is the one you need.
If you go to the official update site you have one option, the one I posted.
Either you use it like the rest of use or don't.

read you own posting above it tells you what they are.
the top 1 the 1 posted here is for 1.6 images
the next one down is an experimental for 1.5 images
the last entry is the release candidate for 1.5 images

You can go to dreambox update and get your own files but if you are not sure which you need you could make a mess of your image.
Myself and the others who post the files will always post the latest and correct files for you so there is no confusion.

3: is your version 1.5 or 1.6?

what are you confused about now
You said, that the drivers posted here is for 1.6 images. But you are wrong, they are not. They supposed to be last experimental drivers for 1.5 images. But I discovered that the file posted here is not exactly the same, that posted on sources.dreamboxupdate.com. I am wondering, why

yes you're right i appologise.
but the only thing i can find different is that the file sonic posted for you has [1] in it the one's you posted don't.
i think basicly they are the same files apart from what i said above and that 1 in brackets simply means that it was the first file in a list (mind i could be wrong and going to get pillaried for it)

@canthackit you are right about the [1]
But stop wasting your time here.
For some reason Satexpert lol does not read what has been written here or in the pm's I have sent, hence why I no longer accept pm's
For the last time the file I posted is ONLY FOR OE 1.5 AND IS FROM THE EXPERIMENTAL TREE
It is the only file you need if you use an image with OE 1.5
If however you run and image such as Dream Elite you need OE 1.6 drivers which I have posted in a separate thread.

But the size and the content of the file is different too. Very suspicious :frown: sonic1 probably don't understand a word, what I'm talking about :cuss: But, OK... whatever ;) I personally don't download drivers from this forum anymore :p

Thank god for that, you don't listen to a word and are fookin clueless.
Now go and download your drivers elsewhere and don't even think of asking for help when you balls it up.

OK, you said you've pm'd this guy, might be useful to post what you pm'd to him here... Since, as far as I can see, he has a very valid question!
The file I downloaded from here (dunno whether it was the stable of experimental for 1.5) is 1,452,020 bytes. The stable I downloaded from the dreambox update site (which as far as I know is the official site?!), is 1,452,028 bytes. The experiemental I downloaded from that site is 1,452,036 bytes.
Since all of the downloads have 8bytes difference, I think it is a legit question, which, if answered on here, should've been posted...

He pm'd to me nothing more, than he said in this thread. Mhhh... but maybe this is the aswer for mystery - on dreambox update com yesterday I downloaded last experimental drivers 1 452 028 bytes, but today there is file with same name 1 452 036 bytes  Are they update files there without renaming them? Strange :frown:
