Great News X5.

Been pulling my hair out getting it to work in CCcam 2 0 11.

Did get it working in NEWCS as you say.

Will load up new drivers tonight & report back my findings.

I am very new to Dreambox though but getting there day by day.
Only had the 800HD a week or so now. Great pictures in the Full HD
i have to say.

cheers

Anybody want to buy my smargo?

On a serious note, the smargo reader works fine with my s#y HD card, but it will occasionally lose contact with the card for a few seconds.

So i would be interested in knowing how well s#y cards work in the internal slot with CCcam now - anybody losing their card now & again?

Yup I can confirm its working really well. I wonder if it will update the card as well. I was having to put my card back in a normal box once a month.

As this was reported I have also just tried gb0x but that still hangs with a SLY card so its back to using mbox and newcs.

Hi

Can someone please point me in the right direction,

I have put in the drivers (ftp ,var tmp, installed file then went to addons and it installed successfully,
downloaded cccam 2.011 full off nab sat ,

Then rebooted dreambox and waited for it to load up again , but I cannot get the Dm800 to read the card.

I must be going wrong somewhere,:willy_nilly:

Try restarting CCcam on a FTA channel, then try a pay channel.

also make sure the card is "chip down" and sometimes it takes a while for cccam to update the card

Can't understand why people say they need to do this all the time, as mine worked fine without having to do anything like that. All I needed to do was a reboot of enigma2. It'd saved the settings then...

tested and working with no cardreader instruction in cccam.cfg, using 2.0.11. Obviously defaults to internal reader.

Might have to add a line for reader speed though. What is the default speed of the internal reader? Dont want to damage card if its too high.

Any ideas?

Sky It NDS3 card does not work direct with CCcam and never has done.
The driver update fixed Sky Uk NDS2 cards only.
You need NewCs to view your card but be warned it is very easy to fry them:respect-050:

Is the card definitely updating in the internal reader with cccam?

Just that the Nat Geo Wild HD didn't open with the card, but from the net only.

Stuck it into the s#y box and it was fine, then back into dm800 - restart -working on card now.

Or, do i just have to do a restart when there has been any updates on the card?

To see if your card is updating under CCcam check the entitlements with CCcam info.

Hi I have overclocked my card with this all working fine with low ecms by doing this:-

SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci0 6000000

But it seems to be hot when I take the card out is this normal, I do have an internal hard drive in the dm800 as well.

What do I need to check in ccam info to see if the card is updating?

Thanks

Is this normal?

Hi.

What are the main reasons to overclock a sky uk card in the internal reader ? Does it provide less freezes on a serv*r ?

Also , i just put mine straight in & works fine but it is quite hot.
I did install the latest driver a couple of weeks ago so that's why it works no problem.

How can the heat be reduced ? Is this also why people overclock.

I can't see any overclock speeds in the ccCam.cfg so would be nice to know what the standard is for the internal reader.

I am fairly new to dreambox so just feeling my way around at the mo but it is a great box.

A lot of people state they overclock the card to 6.8mhz and have no problems. Best thing to do is to start at something 4.5mhz, see what ecm times you get, and slowly increase the speed, so go to 4.6mhz, and see if you get improved speed times. Keep going until you hardly see any difference in ecm speeds, but go no higher than 6.8...

I know the sky card I used in a proper sky box gets very hot too, and even has brown marks around the chip where it looks like it has burnt the plastic. But still works fine...

rigsby
04-04-2009, 02:36 PM
Thanks for the advice Loveman.

Will start low to be safe but i still like to know what that clock speed
is for the internal reader if anyone might know.

cheers

loveman
05-04-2009, 11:53 AM
i don't think there is a certain speed... from what i recall reading a while ago, cccam determines what it thinks to be the best speed. whether that be 4.5, 5.4 or 6.8mhz. but for nds, best setting the speed urself...

rigsby
06-04-2009, 11:43 AM
Thanks Loveman

Think i will just let it be & not do anything in CCcam. Just let
it decide what is best by itself.

Had no complaints from any of my 12 clients so far.

Maybe someone can tell me if it is possible to share the card with these new drivers or is it just for the purpose of reading the card?

Depends on the image you're using as to how easy this will be...

If you're using gemini image, they have a cron program built into the image. All you need to do is create a restart shell script, and then get it to run using the built in cron manager...

Otherwise, you could install the cron manager by gutemine, and that should do the job :)
