Thanks a million PR2, you've saved me for another wrong connection next time and blowing up my azbox one more time. After seeing your pic, I am sure I connected it in the wrong spot.

I must say that many people will do this mistake, since there's no clear definition on how and which socket to connect the HDD.

I second that, this post must be made sticky to avoid others repeating the same mistake

Well.... sort of.

The hint is in the shape of the plug and the shape of the socket.

But I do understand how it could happen.

As your new box is a free replacement then can the peeps in Germany sent it marked as a 'sample' / 'free replacement' / 'repaired item' and avoid you having to pay any import duty as it is free ?

guys any ideas on how the get the box to recognise there is hDD fitted. i fitted a 400gb sata in but the box doesn't see it...
