Is it possible to feed a receiver with 2 dishes, one dish though being motorised and the other fixed via a simple diseqc switch? Would the motor still work?

Yes it works fine, set the fixed dish to diseq 2 and the motorised dish to diseq 1.

When you select a channel on the fixed dish it just changes channel, when you select a channel on the the motorised dish it moves off to the correct sat.

The only minor prob is when the motorised dish doesn't have to move and the diseq just changes channel, sometimes it doesn't voltage switch the polaritry.

A simple channel change up one and back then makes the voltage switch kick in, most times its ok though.

Thanks i may try this. Purely for my fixed dish is 28east and my motor usually sits at 1west and there abouts and is quite a big movement.

So for Astra 28east i set the satellite set up to diseqc 2. All other positions for usals/diseqc 1?

May also try 42east on a fixed dish as my motor wont go that far east.

My fixed dish is on astra 1 with a dual feed, (my wife watches the german channels) the other astra feed goes into a diseq splitter with my motorised dish.

Not dissimilar to what you prepose to do. :)

I have a Motorised and a fixed dish at 28e. Works fine. I even had a fixed at 1w for a while.

what do i set the receiver to. I have a disque switch now fitted. switch 1 (A) goes to motorised dish and switch 2 (B) is going to fixed dish for astra 2 (28EAST). Cant get the motor to turn.

Do i select USALS in motor set up of receiver?

There is usually a DiSEqC option in the motor setup.
