The reason I ask is that someone has given me one, a Cryptic motor that is. I know nothing about them and, other than sellers, I can't seem to find any info on them. Are they all USALS friendly, how do you set them up etc. The tube that the dish fits to seems to be loose, can it be adjusted or is it knackered. Any info or links to manuals etc would be great.

Thanks to all in advance, JT.

I also have a cryptic motor and a Motek. The Cryptic's are ok motors, although I would say there shouldn't be any 'play' in the vertical tube. It should work ok with a receiver with Disqec, as I have tried mine. I did have an issue with mine as the decoder was not compatible for some reason, hence I purchased a Motek. Try it and see. My father -in-law has a cryptic with a 'v' bracket for extra grip and he has had his working now for at least three years.

Thanks for the reply. I can't find out a thing about this motor, not even the model.

first you need to rectify the fault if possible if the motor has play in the tube it will be useless unless it can be repaired I did manage with a manhattan badged motor once if I remember there is a nut inside the unit

I've had mine for 7 years with a 1.1m Triax dish on it and its still working well after all this time and virtually no play in it.
Definately a good HH mount.:D

Bit of a problem finding out which model it actualy is. The label is half torn off and all thats left is the name Cryptik and a serial number. I can't find a site that gives any information on the serial number, so I have no idea how old or which particular version it is. Not to worry, I'll keep searching 'till I find something.
