Where does the username & password go on the DM??
There are settings to enable from main menu, but no option to insert ....

OK ... so MAJOR security issue then, leaving Dreambox open on port 80.

open dcc go to telnet and write
passwd them press enter
them put the passwd u want to use this will be your passwd for the dreambox and also for webinterface
It works with DM800 should be ok with DM8000

Tried both of them - without first setting with passwd - they didn't work by default!

if u didint changed or not using a image backup they have to work

name = root
passwd = dreambox

Yep - once issued the telnet cmd passwd login with username & password works!

If you use DCC, set DCC up with any password you like and you can still login to the 8000

Was talking about using the webif and need for security - going to log in from t'internet (remote) so need some security! Want to stream video remotely

what I ment was leave the std root/dreambox settings but login using DCC, with kingkong as the password, you will still be able to get in, so no password is necessary
