Sky card on DM8000 [Archive]

Hi,
I’m new to all this and the more I read the more confused I seem to get. I have Nabilosat BH v9 installed with CCCam 2.0.11. but can’t get my sky channels to clear. All I want to do is watch and I don’t need to card share, so can someone recommend a set up that works.

According to one ‘Idiots Guide’ I’ve read you may only need Cccam and it may work without having to edit .cfg file. But the more I read I see Newcs and/or others used in combination. I’ve found the Cccam.cfg file using DCC but it appears contain text about Cccam but no C line.

I’m happy to read and try things and any help would be gratefully received.

I use the LT image with mgcamd/newcs but yesterday I installed CCcam by just downloading it using the image to install it, that's all I did, possibly a reboot and my DigitalB card opened perfectly

update this in to your dreambox
use DCC
ftp files to TMP them manual ipk install
this should make your sky card work without newcs only with CCcam_2011

Hi X5, This is a great development! do I need to delete my working NewCS1.62 CCCam 2.0.5 before I install CCCam 2.011 ie. will CCCam 2.011 conflict with this ?

Hi X5, I am running BH 0.9 on USB with E2 on flash but no success on Sky. I previously had the Newcs 1.62 CCCam 2.0.5 working but poor zapping. Once I install the CCCam 2.011 and the two files neither CCCam 2.0.5 or CCCam2.0.11 are working for me. Where do you suggest I go from here. I have of course done a full reboot (several times)

One other question I downloaded CCcam 2.011 complete rather than 2.011 bin. Is that what you would recommend ?

u would only need to download 2.0.11 bin
cos if u install complete it will delete your working CCcam.cfg
thast way your CCcam_2.0.5 not working now
about the card is simple realy u only need the files posted above and CCcam_2.0.11 or later version
what image r u using in flash?

Have trashed NewCs & CCcam; loaded the new CCCam2.0.11 - the sharing (2 dm boxes on LOCAL network) was done by NewCs - now I guess its all done by CCcam, but how do we set up the cfg files to send & receive locally?

Hi X5, manual install of .lpk packages is straightforward in BH images after ftp'ing to /temp but I can't find a manual install in Enigma 2. Can you point me in the right direction please !

Hi Carrpet,
not near my box at the moment so cant test but if memory serves me right.....
telnet your dream then cd /tmp
then, ipkg install filename.ipk
eg: ipkg install dreambox-secondstage_72.r0_dm8000.ipk

you can still install barry allen so you can still play with multiboot on usb

use OOZOON in flash m8 very good CVS image
after install go to menu-plugins-green-extensions
u will find barry allen there
after u install BA reboot your box
them go again MENU-PLUGINS-SOFTWARE UPDATE after the soft update u will have the box updated to the lasted DMM available software

Hi X5, I had already started to load BH0.9 into flash so continued. Restored my settings, downloaded CCCam 2.0.11 bin, ftp'd the new drivers to /tmp followed by a manual install. Then reboot, insert ther Sky Card and away we go. So looks like you have to have the drivers in the image on flash for this to work. I now need to reinstall Barry Allen. Looks like success !

X5 next question. Is it possible to improve channel zapping on Sky ? I regularly have to restart enigma 2 when CCCam stops working during zapping. I have heard discussion on overclocking. What would you recommend for DM8000 ?

i dont own a DM8000 but zapping on sky with my DM800 its very good
about overclocking u need to know what u doing or u may burn your card so tray at your own risk

better start low 4.5, 5.4 or 6.8mhz see how it goes and check if card getting hot....
use this line to overclock
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY : /dev/sci0 3570000

If not, where should I be looking other than /var/etc. I suspect the answer is download the complete version.

install the complete version them edit CCcam.cfg files as u want

I am getting Ecm times of 0.175 to 2.00 (at 5.4). Would you regard this as normal. After zapping through 6 channels I have to restart Enigma 2. Are there any other settings I should be considering ?

ecm time its good but cant see way u need to restart enigma2 im using the same image u using and dont have this prob
check your tmp file to see if u r getting log.files like CCcam.log, CCcam.warnings if u have them u need to disable the output on CCcam.cfg
