I've had this issue on two occassions recently:

CCcam cfg is getting messed up - some missing c & f lines and text re-arranged. I currently have 16 pe#rs, switched dm800 off to stand-by, back on today and i'm 4 pe#rs down so i check it in dcc and as i say it's messed up.

Also, and this has only happened on these two occassions, i logged onto a certain website ok, but got the message "dns being updated" or similar and a site i use every day, virgin mail, i'm now a getting the "page contains both secure and nonesecure items" message.

I log into dyndns.com now and again to keep the account open.

Anybody know what could be causing this? Hopefully i'm not getting hacked by some disgruntled pe#r.

I'm also using serverstats.php so i don't know if that could be an issue.

Have you used telnet to change the password on the installed image??

If not then you have left your box open to anyone who knows your IP, EG: any peers?

How do you change password on dm800?

To Change password

Telnet:

After Start > Run > cmd write the following:

telnet XXX.XXX.X.XX (your Dreambox IP) > enter > root > enter > the current password > enter > passwd > enter > write the new password > enter > the new password again > enter > exit

All the best Dean.

The above post requires that you have installed telnet as an optional install through the add/remove programs -> add/remove windows components.

But if you haven't changed the pass, then people are likely able to gain access. Safest thing is to disable ftp access to your dm800...

Thanks, i had to follow this to change the password:

telnet 192.168. x.xxx (the ip of your DM) when you are in root type passwd & press enter then enter the password you require & confirm.

Entering my current password didn't work (not found) in cmd

I then changed the password in dcc and that logged into the dreambox, so it worked.
