Hi,

I am not sure if this has been covered before but I tried to view some feeds broadcast in 4:2:2 format and I can only hear the sound but bo videos.

Does the AzBoxHD clear 4:2:2 feeds and how?

EDIT: To answer to my own question.. It works

After you scan the frequency, go to the channel list and press edit on the channel and change the flag to HD and it clears it...:number-one-043::number-one-043::number-one-043:

By the way, is blind scan already working with the last firmware?

With a fast and accurate blind scan and 4:2:2 this receiver will be great for feedhunters :)

Thanks.

Interesting. According to the spec, the video decoder only runs MPEG2 in Main Profile level@HL (4:2:0), as do most domestic STB's.

Great news about the 4.2.2 feeds but does it work out the box or with updated s/w?

Also, does it handle NTSC, for use in the USA / North America?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

It does 4:2:2 out of the box but there is not yet a blind scan function, so you need to know all the parameters, enter then manually then you will get the picture.

Yes Azbox does support NTSC.

I have read in various forum that it does not open feeds 4.2.2 dvb-s2 (HD) !!!

it can show a feed 4.2.2 in dvb-s2, in this case I will buy AZbox hd.

From a Spanish AZ forum [thanx to escu, translated using an online translator!]:

The machine was tested by my friend, reported their results

feeds on dvb-s and dvb-s2: l'azbox works correctly, there is no difference, that depends on the tuner that is fully dvb-s and s2

feed in dvb-s2 4:2:0 SD: ok
feed in dvb-s2 4:2:2 SD: ok
DVB-S2 feed in 1080i HD 4:2:0: ok
DVB-S2 feed in 1080i HD 4:2:2: ko

the negative test was carried out with the HD ELITE AZBOX this feed:
10/04/2009 08:57 PM Submitted by yosssi
NSS 7 (22.0 ° W)
11689 H 15000 - MPEG2 4:2:2
Sport - Golf
Masters HD (dvb/s2)

is thought that the problem depends on the chipset, a chipset Sigma, just as it is used for streaming digital media reader Popcorn Hour: The small Popcorn Hour is perfectly compatible with the video in SD and 4:2:2, in HD, only 720p format, but is not compatible with the 4:2:2 HD 1080i

I do not know if something has tested the same feed with different outcome

if the problem is real, I do not know if it can be solved with new firmware

If so go hassle and go with great difficulty that we were going well with this deco,, hope if anyone knows more of the item says something thanks

So, some HD formats are OK, only one isn't. Not bad for a Beta Stage box, I would have thought.:respect-023: Actually, quite promising!:seeya::respect-051:

It can open dvb-s2 4:2:2 feeds!! BUT...it seems to be hit and miss.

Some s2 4:2:2 feeds open but not others. The type of encoder used by the broadcaster has a bearing.

Hopefully, a fix will be issued.

So, I can only say: I have a complete confidence that eventually it will come...

1) We have planned with this release launch fixes for RGB, 4.2.2. HD contents, HE-AAC audio, however for this we need switch completely SIGMA driver, at moment we need some more time to test this new driver carefully.
We are very hard to make it work correctly on next days.

I'm also thinking of getting an Azbox, would also like to know how sensitive the tuner is. Would also like to know whats the lowest symbol rate it can lock on to in both DVB and DVB-S2 modes. For example, with my current Humax HDCI2000 i can get as low as SR 1100 in DVB mode and an SR of 3404 in DVB-S2 mode. Can someone test it on a low SR channel in DVB-S2 mode? Distrivison on Hispasat would be a good one to try (11647V SR 1667 FEC 5/6 DVB-S2 8PSK). Thanks in advance!

amn - What I would suggest is you check out a working live feed from this site satelliweb.com/index.php

Try all the obvious settings, then if still stuck start a new thread

In this new thread you should put all the feed details and ask other people to confirm they can get the feed, and then ask them to say what settings they used.

I don't think you quite get it.
4:2:2 is a professional format used to distribute material. You are not really meant to see it, so this material is usually on a satellite "off the beaten track".

When the guys spot the feeds, they post them stating that they are in this 4:2:2 format.
