Hi I'm clearing digitv using an offset lnb on an 80cm dish pointed at sirius. I'm in e anglia.

Becasue of the offset my threshold on some channels is very low but even if they are breaking up in rain they still open.

I can clear it fine with a third of your signal quality.

Hi james325ise
On the Tm Series Receiver with a signal of 70% upwards and a Signal Quality of 40% upwards should clear without any problems....

Question... Are you both using the same receiver ??? If not it may be the that different receivers use slightly different Transponders which may lead you to think it's an alignment problem....

I had this problem with my folks setup but they are using a TM3500 Super Series.. So I got my pen and paper and wrote down the Frequencies and Transponders of the Channels that worked on my Tm5400 Super and manually inputted them into the Tm3500 series and it solved the Problem...

Hope this is some help....

just a thought. but if youve fine tuned your receiver to look for 1 west at your house and then taken the machine to your dads, your receiver would be looking for your dish setting. if your dads is set up slightly different to yours then your receiver needs fine tuning to his dish. are you getting the fta channels on 1 west to show that you are on the right satellite. find one an then fine tune to the best signal. shouldnt be to do with the patch cos you are using your machine with it already working.

thnks for reply's from what your all saying it should have cleared !!!

no i have darkbox h.d

but i plugged my dads tm reciver into my motorised system dish...
and it cleared all channels........ yes did have to move a little as in different location

plugged into my dads dish ( same day ) and yes had to use tm blue button to move dish again....... but no digi ???

yes clearing fta channels on thor as said .... lux coming up gr8 picture and 98% quality ..

no point looking at new cable then ????

so basically with 90% signal it should have cleared ..... mnnnnnnnnnn

with it clearing on my system i have got to b looking at alignment of dish ? not patch but with high signal and quality ....i dont know what more i can do ....mnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

You say you cannot get Digi TV but have you checked all horizontal and vertical transponders on this package? Did it used to work?

Lux TV is a horizontally transmitted frequency which is usually easier to lock onto than a vertical one. It may be that you dad's dish or LNB skew are out of alignment.

As your dad's box clears on your system then that means that it is an alignment problem or something external to the house is blocking the signal.

I'd recommend looking at all horizontal and vertical frequencies in both low and high band and concentrate on eliminating any possible alignment problem with the dish and the LNB.

lux was one example of 1 fta channels that clears .......

having 90% signal and 80-90% quality i was thinking maybe not obsticle or blocking problem ?

hes popping box over today im got to get all channels sorted and runnign then sunday over again and see if i can get alignment any better ...

cheers for all your help greatly recived and read
