I just got a thermaltake 60mm fan from a local electronic dealer - m.a.p.l.i.n; works fine - I took the HD cage in & tried several fans!
Have you looked on the vip forum?

Sorry for the late reply! Main main concern is the fan noise. The ****** one can not be controlled without external controller, but the original can (it has PWM wire). My box is inside closed cabinet and it gets quite warm. I should have bought fan when I got the box. Paying £12 for the fan seemed too much then. The VIP forum is totally useless. Have you tried i-have-a-dreambox forum? It is excellent and has English section as well.

In the end I have decided to get Akasa 60mm case fan. Quoted noise was about 20dB due to low RPM. When it was fitted inside DM8000 (which is inside closed cabinet) I can not hear it and it keeps temperature down that I can feel the difference!
