Icecrypt s1000c built in cam to multicrypt

Hi
can anyone explain is the icecrypt cam a conax or multicrypt ? I keep seeing it advertised as both.
New out of the box is it just a conax ? does it need firmware patch to convert cam to multicrypt ?

as far as im aware its multicrypt straight out of the box.

Just to confirm this i have tested a new box with the following cards;

viaccess 1.0 & 2.6
Irdeto 5.3

This confirms the receiver is multicrypt out of the box (not just conax) without the need of any firmware.
