Hi all, Is it possible to share the common interface (cam slots) on the dreambox 8000hd over a local network? I am already sharing a card using Cccam 2.0.11 just wondered if i could share my diablo and t-rex super as well.

Cheers

I don't have DM8000 but with DM7000 or DM7020 or any other box I know it is not possible.

Hi,

I think it is not possible to share a Common Interface card,
You need to use a Smargo reader instead, then you can use it with cccam in the same way you are using the card readers.

Hi,

do a search on google.

The Smargo+ reader is a card reader that plugs into the usb port.
You can even put a usb hub with several usb ports and use a smargo on each port. For instance, if you have a hab with10 usb ports, you can use 10 Smargo readers + two embedded card readers that make 12 cards that can be used on the 8000 and shared !

The Smargo+ acts as the two cards reader that the 8000 has.
Then by configuring the cccam.cfg file you can use & share the card that you insert into the Smargo.

I am sure that @quailman was talking about the Common Interface Slot (used for CAMS not cards), a diablo or Trex won't fit in a card reader!

Yes,

I do understand that Quailman is talking about the CAM Slots.

As I said the answer is no at 99% sure.
If he do needs more than two cards reader then he can use a Smargo+ card reader connected to the USB port then share the card with cccam.
