Dad cannot get into menu by pressing on the remote

Dad cannot get into menu by pressing on the remote. It as been turn off for a long time and turn back on and no go. He can move to other channels but cannot get into the menu to but the new code in. Stating to forget how to sort things out on the VN but sound like he will have to but the SW back on again to get it to work again :?: . Thanks for any help on this one. He as change the battery s in the remote all so but still the same.

I suppose its obvious, but has he tried pressing the 'Sly' button at the top to get things going again?:confused:

The vissionet has not got a sky button if I remember right.

Indeed - it was not designed for Sly.

I can't remember what buttons it did have as not used for a long time, and not anywhere near one to check, but maybe it has a TV button as well as Sat, in which case he could try pressing Sat on the remote control.

No I don't think it that as he can get other channels with it he all so press in on the STB the menu button and does not work. Said to him to reboot it but no good looks like he will have to wait until I get out there and see if I can fix it for him. Get ready for some question if not in my read me. :D

Take your remote with you so you can check his receiver out with another remote.

Yes I think I will do that but I don't think it that as it does not work on the VN menu button on the VN front panal when he press it. Could be wrong.

Update

Talking to my Dad and he said he could not pick anything up after a little talk to him said to check the scart lead and he change it over and all working again. Hard to do over the net when you cannot see what is going on.
