Hi M8

It may have helped if you had stated the names of some channels that you receive which have weak signals in your area, then members may be more able to give you the info that you require for those channels and your location.

hi m8 that question was a general question for any channels with a weak signal. But im mostly concerned for nilesat v channels and my digiquest receiver wont show any channels with signal quality less than 49%. I should say whats the minimum signal quality for which the technomate will show clear picture. I am in the uk

There has been some debate about this on DM's website. It seems that there is a difference in tuner sensitivity between the super and standard versions. The super having (strangely) the less sensitive version.

From looking through various channels I'm not sure there is a standard quality level but with the super version anything much under 50% is likely to cause problems.

However to get some channels to clear you can in some instances (e.g. RedX on 23.5%) need over 60%.

From what I've read in other threads, TM seem to be introducing a Super + version with a more sensitive tuner.

Funnily enough - and maybe I've misunderstood this - I was under the impression that the latest 'Super' patches are supposed to have sorted the tuner sensitivity problem, for example I no longer get inexact numbers via a blind scan which happened before this patch - no longer '27497' etc., or duplicated channels?:frown:

3 X HDMI for the receiver to TV (TM, Blu Ray and Sky), Optical for the TV to Sound system.

With my Humax HDCI2000, I used to frequently lose picture on Nilesat 11996H in bad weather here in Switzerland. Someone here suggested the TM6900 had a more sensitive tuner, and this has definitely proved to be the case (I have the older model). It now takes very bad weather for me to lose Sh*wtime, and with my 120 offset, I'm generally seeing between 59-62% signal. Of course my location also helps.

hi guys
in my case i have an old 5500dapci model which shows 100% on hot bird
but with the 6900 s i get 90% both fed from the same coax cable newly installed.
would we have a patch to sort the sensitivity in the future or we have to stick with it ?
thanks:respect-050:

Just to add my 3d worth!! Tuner on the super is quite good and mine will secure channels down to low 40s - 45 ish. Not as good as my old 5000 but streets ahead of my dreambox 7000 which has trouble below 60 level. Cheers - Brain

I have a technomate 6900 Combo Super + and i can lock onto signals @ 44% with good output, it is patched with the latest firmware. i did have a problem the other day with the signal strength on 1w i corrected that by nudging the motor in the settings to lock on to a stronger signal. NW UK

After contacting Technomate I can confirm the new super + has a more sensitive tuner for weaker signals than the Super model. :hurray:
