Hi mate, not my work but this should help.
Hi guys and welcome,
I've had my box a few weeks now and yes its honestly a absolute doddle to update.
The patches and softcam files are kindly put up for us on here. All you do is d/load them. transfer the unzipped files onto your usb stick, shove it in your reciever and it will tell you to please wait. When that screen is gone you hit menu/usb/data transfer or green button(shortcut) and data transfer. Select the file off your stick and hit OK. The file will load, exit out when loaded. Pull out the USB stick for loading next time. Just follow any extra instructions that are with the patches or softcams, ie A/U info. Great little boxes mate and a good price too. With thanks to rit
++ since this was 1st posted there has been mention that the usb stick is sometimes not read, if you have this problem then please read on++
these are my findings with a 5400 USB receiver straight out of the box<
You MUST first update the receiver with technomates latest firmware/software from their own website and load it into the receiver via usb dongle (easiest method). then and only then will the new receiver fully understand and know how to correctly read the USB dongle.
Once you have done the manufacturers update you can then read other files on the dongle such as magic patch's and other extra items.
for some reason straight out of the box it cannot read or understand anything other than manufacturers update files.
