Hi Guys,
I've discovered this bug. I am using moveable dish. When you use diseqc 1.2 to move motor to an specific satellite, it just searches for the first transponder of the satellite, in case if the first transponder is not available in your area, or it's a dead tp, you won't be able to find the satellite. You can't select another tp and move motor to find it, (even though you can select any transponder, and then move motor, but it'll still be searching for the first transponder of the satellite) thus you can't lock on to the satellite. The move around for this bug is that, you'll have to put the transponder which you are sure is available in your area and not dead to the top of the tp list, then you'll be able to lock on to the satellite.

It shouldn't be like this though, and should be resolved in the upcoming firmware. You sould be able to move motor to find any transponder of any given satellite, not just the tp on the top of the list.

can you not change the frequency ect on the first transponder or if that is not possible delete the first transponder and leave only the ones you know to be active

is that the latest software you are using?
My one loaded with the latest one and you can change tp ...
buy on usals location setting (long/lat... ) is not good for example I'm trying to write 0.129 it comes up 0.1 on the screen which gives not perfect dish position !
am I doing wrong? Is it possible to write 0.129 on to the usals setting ?

yup i m using latest software and as I mentioned, you can offcourse select any tp but if when u move motor, it'll just search for the tp on the top of the list, not your selected one.

Yeah, I did exactly the same, i deleted all non working tp, and then i was able to lock on the satellite. But offcourse there are many many satellites and it's not possible to be sure of which tp are working. I am not ranting azbox but this is the thing dreambox does perfectly, you can choose any tp and then move motor to find it.

Anyways I hope that this will be resolved in new firmware

don't worry mate azbox is a little baby ;) all these things will be sorted by the time...
remember the really early days of dm if you compare still azbox rocks :D
Glad you've partly solved the problem...

Hi,

A good way to check this is having a look at those sites:

h**p://www.lyngsat.com

h**p://www.satcodx.com

h**p://en.*********.net/

I am pretty sure that are plenty of other sites that gives you the same information but you can check if the TP proposed is still really used or not.

PR2, mate, yes you are right but since there are lots and lots of satellites, even on the same satellites, sometimes some transponders do not reach my country and I don't even know which are them. So it's really useless and a big waste of time to keep checking and deleting the transponders on the top till I find a tp which is available in my footprint.

I think this is a serious and very inconvenient bug which should be resolved in coming firmwares.

surely ;)
have you tried usals?

s_kates81

no. didn't try usals. Nothing will help till this first transponder only bug resolved.

then you must try usals find your position long/latitude put them to box and let it find the satellites for you ;)

How will it find the satellite for me if for instance the first tp of the satellite ( which it'll always look for) isn't in my footprint? No matter what you try, USALS, Diesqc 1.2 or even a fixed dish, it won't be able to find the satellite. Until you do the hard work by yourself by keep deleting the top tp and keep searching till you find a tp which is available

Dude
Did you setup Usals properly with your Homes Long/Latitutes?
Check Dishpointer and try to find them ,
goto settings Save those and That's it ...
Usals will find Every possible Satellite on the sky if your motorised system installed perfectly...
I hope that helps If not I'm lost :D

You mean I put the gps co ordinates lat and long of my home into the azbox and then it'll find all satellites for me automatically?

Thats what I have to do with my TM6900HD Super using USALS, yes!:respect-067:

Yes usals will find all sats ( if dish is installed correctly) even on Azbox.
Doesn't matter if first transponder in list is dead or not.

usals works

Only works if you are using a diseqc motor.

usals finds the position not the satellite no matter if there is a sat there or not then try a few transponders untill you find an active one simple problem and easily resolved

can someone convert my co ordinates for azbox usals standard. I am not being able to put them in there. Here they are
N 13 43.472'
E 100 42.418'

Obviously LOL :D

I can use usals with my 8 in 1 switch! :king-041::respect-020::117:

it seems the usals in azbox accept only 4 digits, can't enter the fifth digit of the co ordinate because it resets again

My ones 51.57 and 0.12953 but box takes only 51.5 and 0.1 it's ok but not good enough cos 0.1 and 0.129 is different locations :(
but still works

please someone convert my co ordinates to be able to put in azbox

Post code is 10250. What it has to do with my co ordinate anyways?
