Can anyone please help!

I recently loaded patched versions of the Tom Tom 8.204 and UK maps 825.2157. The original SD card packed in and I had no backup, so I used this software.
Although, it works resonably OK, everytime I try to enter just the postcode, the unit freezes and goes into re-start???
The speed cameras dont come up either, so I think I may have placed things incorrectly in the program.
I think I have loaded all the necessary ZIP and Camera stuff software correctly, but still no joy.

(As you can probably tell I am relatively new to this, so any information would be best in laymans terms please)

Thanks in advance for any info.

Hi,

It must be your lucky day as I have not been able to post for a while, been sorted today.

First off, you don't say which model of TomTom you have, how did you update the SD card with all the new stuff?

Have you got the new Post Codes v901 in your ZIP folder, that is two files in the ZIP folder and not in a sub folder off the zip folder?

Also you don't say which speed cameras you are using, have you installed them and the voice files in your map folders, you will have to enable the sounds under manage POI settings for each map folder?

This bit is of no help but I am sure you have read "BACK IT UP FIRST" so why did you not do it :001_07:, it is of no help now but I am sure you will do it next time, "you will, won't you?" Also don't use Home to do you backups, make a new folder and call it what you wish, TT back up maybe, then copy all your files and folders to your backup folder.

Just had another thought, with the new Navcore and maps there is a setting you can change, under manage power settings, if I remember not got my GO to hand it is the second screen, untick the box shut down when power removed. I also noticed when I had removed my SD card and done some work on it, the first time I ran my GO I got the battery warning screen and the GO switched off, all you need to do is restart your GO or that is all I needed to do. Don't forget to re-enable it if you want your GO to switch off when you turn off your ignition.

So over to you.

Thanks SatcomBob for your reply.

Can I just update a little, the TomTom is actualy a ONE! Sorry for the confusion.
The reason I didn't have a back up is the Tom Tom is actually the next door neighbour's and he asked me if I could sort it. Not wanting to pass on the challenge, I said yes.
So I got a 1 gig SD and loaded all the stuff on it.
The software was all taken from recommended sites from this forum and I patched them using Alberts easy activator.

Thanks,

Mr M

Russel has answered this question before all you do is set keyboard to qwerty and that fixes it:respect-050:
