does Barryallen 4.8.12 work now with HDD?

4.8.2 did not work

are you sure mate afaik it's still 4.8.2

and for me 4.8.2 works perfectly ok on the HDD

Haven't tried on the hdd, but why would you bother running from hdd? Considering that hdd's use more energy than usb drivers to power, you're causing more heat and electricity to be caused/used by the box... Plus, usb drives are so cheap you can't use that as an arguement, and they I doubt you're already using 2 usb devices?!

sorry to have doubted you, yes there are new versions of BA out, bit of a jump from 4.8.2 to 4.8.12 that's why i thought it was suspect.

anyways i've now updated the flash image with the latest boxman 12/05/09 and now with BA 4.8.14 on the HDD works just as good as before.
