aspect ratio problem!!

I'm using firmware 2032. When playing movies file, the aspect ratio is not correct. It's always show it fullscreen whether the movies are 1.85:1 or 2.35:1 How can I adjust it to have black bar on top and bottom of the movies so as to get the correct aspect ratio.

don't you have a setting(s) like (or simular) on the STB:

video format
4:3 | 16:9 | auto
Full screen | Pilar-Box

in combination these settings could give a different result, these settings is how the signal is presented to the TV-screen/Monitor settings.

you would have to check how these signals are processed on the TV/Monitor
there could be a setting in the TV/Monitor that auto stretch out the picture from the STB this could be even on the connection level for TV/Monitor: video, scart, s-vhs, dvi, hdmi ...

so it is either the AZBox HD settings or the display setting or both.

If you have a panosonic plasma tv your stuffed, 21:9 cant be displayed properly and neither can the pretend widescreen that ITV and the BBC use.

Youv'e still got black bars unless you use zoom which murders the picture quality.
