Hello,
I am trying to manually install CCcam 2.1 on Gemini 4.2 image on Dreambox 800 HD.

I copy the cccam.tar file to /tmp with 755 attributes and try look for the "install addon" option in blue panel to install the cccam, but I don't see any option, only network install - my Dreambox is not connected to network.

What am I doing wrong? Should I move to another image which has the manual addon install option?

Thanks a lot,
David

Try unzipping the files
the file you downloaded is not a self installing file. Having unrarred it, the folders/files that you have can be ftp'd to the dreambox.

The files go into the folders as they are shown and the first two need to have their attributes changed to 'execute' ie chmod 755

After the files have been ftp'd to the Dreambox, it must be rebooted for the changes to be recognised.

Thanks, but how do I activate it then? I do not see it anywhere under blue panel. Only Common Interface... how do I switch to the CAM when it's correctly installed?

Hi,
You can download the file to the image from the Gemini server and it is easy to install it then.

Thanks Pedigree, but that's the point, my Dreambox is not connected to the Internet, I need to do a local install.

I just managed to get my ICS sharing working and downloaded the CCcam from Gemini. Thanks.

For future reference, if you press blue, then red (iirc), then this will take you in to the file manager section of the gemini image. From here, navigate to the /tmp folder. Then, select the file you want to install, and I think the green button will allow you to install it. (Been a while since I used gemini image).

btw, isn't it best to get your box connect to the net to make the most of it? ;)

Thanks!

It truly is the best and easiest option, now I managed to get it connected via connection sharing.
