Hi,

Having downloaded the new updates the .OV2 files are ok, however, the image files have changed, using them on my GO 300 they are too big, anyone else noticed this?

For information:

I am using a TomTom GO 300 with Navcore v8.410 (1218). Boot 5.5120.
Map United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland v830.2305.

ALG and IQ all working, Mapshare ok, TT Home working ok, computer voices ok, it says the street names, road names etc ok. :king-041:

Credit not to me for this, info from another forum. :respect-050:

Tweaking Vocalizer TTS:

If you are annoyed by the way it pronounces roads, so A14 comes out 'ah14', and A1413 comes out as 'ah one thousand four hundred and thirteen'.

To fix the following:

A roads are now pronounced A, rather than Ah
J is replaced with Junction, so J41 is spoken as 'Junction 41', rather than 'J41'

Three digit roads are pronounced as individual numbers, so A143 is pronounced as 'A one four three'

Four digit roads are pronounced as two, two digit numbers, so A1413 is pronounced as 'A fourteen thirteen'

To do this, you need to paste the following code into the rex_enu.dat file which can be found here enu\speech\components\ (assuming you are using the English voice)

NOTE: I am using Samantha US Computer Voice now working ok.

# UK roads
# Junctions - makes it say junction rather than J
/J(\d+)/ --> "junction $1"

# A roads - makes it say A rather than ah
/A(\d+)/ --> "A,$1"

# 3 digit roads spoken as individual numbers, not one number
/(A,?|B|M)(\d)(\d)(\d)(\D)/ --> "$1 $2 $3 $4 $5"

# 4 digit roads spoken as groups of numbers, not one number
/(A,?|B)(\d{2})([1-9]\d)(\D)/ --> "$1 $2 $3 $4"
/(A,?|B)(\d{2})0([1-9])(\D)/ --> "$1 $2 oh $3 $4"
/(A,?|B)(\d{2})0{2}(\D)/ --> "$1 $2 double oh $3"

More code to play with:

Section to pronounce some town names properly

# UK place names
/Ipswich/ --> "ypswich"
/Bury (s|S)t(\.)?(\s)?(E|e)dmunds/ --> "Bury saint edmunds"
/Norwich/ --> "Naurich"
/(g|G)t(\.)?(\s)?(Y|y)armouth/ --> "Great Yarmouth"

Syntax for street:

/(\s)(s|S)t(\s|$)/ --> "Street"

I hope the above is of help to others. :winner-019:

No, but have a look at this for converting Tomtom POIs to Garmin - not used it myself though -

Hi,
Whichever files I use (consolidated or zoned) still not sure of the differences, I get a red box image on my maps instead of what I guess should be a camera or speed symbol.
Any idea what I am doing wrong.

Delete the .BMP files for the speed cameras & use the other ones I've posted in first post in this thread (for the zoned cameras).

Here's a set of BMP files for the Consolidated cameras

Hey Russel will the files work on Tomtom One V3?
I have the original tomtom safety camera database installed and guess i would need to remove that ?
Alos would it be possible to get the UK-Speed Zoned Complete database as ive got used to havint he speed displayed with the camera these days as the last time i used the consilidated was with an old mio 168 pda a good few years ago.

Thanks for your work I have been searching for files ever since PGPSW started making files only available to subscribed members

These will work on any type of Tomtom & will be better if you remove the Tomtom ones, but should work even if you have both sets on - but you'll get 2 warnings for most of the cameras. The UK Zoned complete database is in the first post & yes you can use that or the consolidated set. If you have a problem with the .BMP files in the speed camera file you'll find a new set of .BMP files in the first post.
