They are no longer doing satellite dishes:

The former Andrew Satellite Communications business will be operated as a newlyformed, independent company called ASC Signal Corporation

Cheers4.5m for nilesat when new sat at 7w is deployed who knows what size will be needed for all transponders mean while 2.4 andrews just about pulls in all transponders at 7w I am told this is in the midlands

usially the big mesh dishes are mainly for c band and not as efficient at ku so be aware of the lower gain at ku

What about a 3.7m Prodelin ?

A member on another forum has one in South Wales.

i've read somewhere that the new sat to replace 101 at 7w is to have tighter footprint on it's intended area so be aware if you buy a 4m dish it could be of no use

yeah try before you buy, see if you can find a sat dx enthousiast in your area with the dish size you're aiming for. If you are a diy in electronics, you might consider cooling the lnb to minus 25 celcius and gain a couple of db (peltier elements) test before with an old lnb and professional freeze spray

not possible to test a satellite footprint before its been launched or am I missing something 101 will be retired when the new sat at 7w is launched who knows if 4-5 m will be big enough could be a costly mistake if you don't do your homework

just for testing purpose couple of minutes spraying until lnb inside freezes over. If it works you could install (peltier elements) for permantly freezing the lnb. (Peltier= Thermoelectric cooling)

The problem with a mesh dish is the reception is never as good as a solid dish, if memory serves me right think it was 20% less signal reception than a solid of the same size.

Is showtime on 101 or 102?? Had a look on Lyngsat and they are showing the showsports channels as being on Nilesat 102. Can any one confirm which one it is broadcasting on??

I know swedish microwaves used to do a complete cooling system, will have to have a nose, thx for the reminder about cooling Giga :respect-020:

Its looking like it might be cheaper and easier to get one shipped over from Cyprus!!!

Hehehe, you say cooling the lnb will help reception, is this true winter time also, I mean when the surrounding temprature is -25 C. Will living in a cold area help reception?

Best regards!

Best regards!yes cold and clear skies if you intend moving but not further north or the dish would need to be even bigger
