If that would be possible, what's the advantage of having the CT firmware rather than the TM one?

No it won't brick, just remote unit will not work, you have to open your remote and switch jampers.

There's no much advantage in having CT firmware, but there's BIG advantage in having Dr. HD. F16 firmware - you will get fully functional, very sensitive and fast ******** analyzer. Stand alone ******** analyzers of such capabilities cost from $500 and up :)

is this wishfull thinking? I've seen the analyzer software part of the Dr.HD f16 in testing for LNB and cable frequency loss and pinpointing so where the bad reception is. Or can you confirm this firmware is loading on Technomate and what model? How do you get this firmware loaded on the Technomate as there is a safeguard for loading a wrong model STB? Did you personal test this?

Hello.

Origin of these receivers is HDCI-8000. originally made by hub-tech.com

It is known as Technomate 6900HD+, ClarkeTech HD5000C+, DR.HD F.16 and so on.

Software is interchangeable, since hardware is the same, but your receiver bootloader checks specific string in firmware, to check, wherether this firmware is for this wendor or not. So all you have to do, is change the ID string in firmware header, to allow you flash your box with different firmware.

Personally, I don't have TM6900HD super plus combo + or what's its correct name, but I do have ClarkeTech HD5000C+, and being able to flash it with patched DR. HD F.16 firmware successfully.

tested only from CT to F16 no one confirmed these could be loaded on a TM, to much noises on bricked TM, not gonna try this out. keep following with interest however

not confirmed in scope of this forum... This does not mean no one tested it worldwide? :)

p.s. TM firmware on Dr. HD is already tested - works fine.

sounds all great, the reverse DR.HD F16 firmware on TM-6900 HD combo super? No yet found a confirmation this works without bricking the TM. To expensive for paperweight. And once it is bricked no guarantees it can be revived.

A friend tested these firmwares on TM6900+super etc bla.

1. Ctech firmware works fine, just gui elements (icons, etc) are screwed up, backgrounds ok.

2. drhdf16 firmware works fine, just all graphics, including gui and backgrounds are screwed up.

Would this firmware decrypt any more channels, I cannot find much information or a channel list or is it just better for card sharing

it has a realtime software analyzer, good for measuring LNB, cable loss, ...

how can you operate the box if the graphics are screwed up?
how did the friend changed the drhd16.stb to load on the TM6900 super +, and did he use the offical firmware or did he find a patched version?

graphic, this means icons, backgrounds, etc.

TEXT, it's location and captions all are ok.

I don't know exactly how he did, will ask him later.

If anyone could point me how to change ID in software or any tool i could use than i'm happy to turn my TM-6900Super into guinea pig and make some nasty experiments.

don't brick it. You need more then a hex editor! If i'm not mistaken some kind of checksum is applied on the .stb file.
