Drivers will not be given out, we are told, as they don't want the box to be pirated/copied, so no chance of getting something really different from the original/official FW. Just a skin difference, apparently...

Anyone with any better info?

BTW, the kernel used by Opensat engineers is not the newest...

kernel version is 2.6.15
the newest fw is using 2.8.5.1 version of sigma sdk and that's the important part.

I dont think that sigma sdk has kernel 2.8.5.1 ;)
Because there is no kernel series 2.8

2.8.5.1 is only the version of the sdk
and has nothing to do with the kernel in it

If that's only for Skin it's really pointless cos
I don't think anyone will come with anythink better than the Current skin ;)

The skin wasn't developed by Opensat, it is the same as on the CelrunTV box, made by the original manufacturers

colla read my post again. nowhere is written that kernel v. 2.8.5.1 is being used!!!!
