flash erase

i need to do a flash erase then put a new image into flash.how can i do this and which tools do i need ?wot im saying is can i use my laptop ehernet cable router to db800?if so wot tool do i need to make it work.i am looking to this because when i try to install updates they do not work. many thanks

No such thing as flash erase with DM800, it's not like the DM500.

You just need to flash a new image and it is done.

What problems are you having at present ?

im trying to install driver updates. so i can use sky card. i ftp them to tmp then try to install them. it install in secons. but the updates do not work. in the past they have.had it al working in the past. had problems so i reinstalled image and now not able to get sky card working like before. sonic wot tools do i need to instll new image to flash useing etenet cable -router db ? many thanks

PC connected to router via ethernet cable, the Dreambox connected to router via ethernet cable.

Router must have dchp enabled.

Are you using the new white sky card?! If so, from what I've heard, this doesn't work straight through with cccam. Needs to run from within newcs...

Hi,
Just to re-cap, is the following procedure correct.
Old image in flash
Barry Allen running on USB
Using a recent image from flash.

To update flash image.

Re-Boot DB from flash image
Flash the new image from brouser
Re boot.

Now the question is will Barry Allen be accessible from the new image on the flash or will it need to be reinstalled so that you can boot again from the USB.

Each time i have tried this i lose the information on the usb

Depends what image you have in the flash, Nabilo pure flash has Barry Allen built in for you or OoZoon has Barry Allen from it's downloads.

OK mate put the Oozoon 23/06/2009 on the flash, it's in the uploads or at least it is now (thanks sonic lol)

BA 4.8.17 in in the plugins...Plugins>extentions, just let it install reboot and you're ready to put the images on the usb for multiboot.

Just to add to the above, if you already have images on a barry allen usb stick, then it will (assuming you don't remove the stick when installing barry allen) recognise this, and use the images from this stick to boot when you've updated the flash...

I am running a nabilo pure flash in the flash and EDG Nemenis on the usb.
I will give it a go at the weekend using Oozoon image.

I am using NB for second may with BA in flash.
I have tried the Oozoon Image however i have dificulty to exess the BP or the addon for download the cccam.
Any advice on hau to download cccam or to addon manually the cccam.

Are you saying you've got Black Hole on the flash?
And with Barry Allen?
If yes then remove BA! it wont work.
Just use Black Hole as is.
What you want if going multiboot is Oozoon (the last one) on the flash, Barry Allen 4.8.17 is in the Plugins.
Then you can go multiboot if you want, you can then install Black Hole 0.10 on the USB

in telnet


mount -o remount,rw /boot
rm /boot/*
reboot


this will erase the boot folder and force the dreambox to boot into failsafe mode, you can then get the IP from the front lcd and type that into your browser and reflash from there.
