Still no tv deal announced for ESPN America or Sky regarding NFL regular season coverage for 2009/2010. I suspect the preseason on ESPN is covered by the existing deal.

But I think we have to have a confirmation on a new deal before we can be sure. They are a bit late this time around with new tv deals, with almost only a month to go to the season starts. Also still no confirmation on Sky Sports UK coverage.

Is looks almost certain now that ESPN America (not the UK version) has agreed to a new deal which will keep NFL at ESPN America until end of 2011/2012 season according to a usually well informed German site. Still to be announced officially.

Same coverage as previous years with 4 live games + 2 as live on monday and a Game of the Week which may or may not be one of the games already shown.

ESPN shows like NFL Live, NFL Primetime, NFL Countdown seems to continue and also NFL Films.

Reports say that expanding the rights to cover further countries than the previous deal seems to have been a lengthy topic in the rights talks. Which those countries might be was not mentioned.

That's all for now. We're still awaiting an announcement about a new Sky UK deal.

bobby I am glad you are around. Yes I plan to watch ESPN but it has blacked out of Sky UK and DSmart 42E. Any ideas or clues if they might come back ?

Still no UK deal for NFL. Negotiations ongoing. Definitely no pre season coverage on Sky.

@bobby thx for keeping this thread alive by keeping us posted boss. You can change to a new thread for the season whenever you wish. BUT one question though. Through a dreambox clone one can get 4 or 5 ESPN America channels. I thought they all had the same show but they don't. What's the deal on that ?

You're thinking of why there are different ESPN America channels?

If so. It's all about rights for showing different sports.

I believe there are 3 different feeds.

1 for UK, Scandinavia and Italy without NFL. (Rights sold to others in these territories)
1 for Germany and much of Europe (Has NFL rights)
1 for the Middle East

Hey Chaps.

I opted for the weekly trial of the NFL GAME PASS just to see if it is worth viewing and purchasing the season ticket.
I am running the stream through the internet onto my Mac Pro onto my Panasonic 42" Plasma
All I can say is wow !!
The picture quality is very very good and very sharp! considering it is a stream through the internet.
NFL GAME PASS are streaming HD quality and if you have a fast internet say between 2- 8 megs you will get a good picture no probs!
If this is the quality Im to get every week then I think I will opt for the season ticket.
I may first opt for the Monthly ticket just to see if the quality is still as good and freezing as when everyone is watching the 1st game of the season.
What I like about the GAME PASS is its nice to know I don't have to search the satellite world to watch a game.
You basically can just pick & choose any of the 16 games to watch that weekend & switch back and forth at anytime to any game that is in progress !
It basically gives you a season ticket to your team for the season & playoffs if ya lucky enough to get there.

If ya havent tried it YOU NEED TO !!
As you could be missing out!
If you have a laptop or PC you can conect to your Big screens via video s / scart or the VGA to VGA / DVI on the back of your plasma or the old big TV's
If you have any questions FIRE AWAY!
