Just got my DB8000HD and going through the setup, on the part where the ****** takes you for setting up Tuner I get 'Nothing Connected' on the screen?

Tied it in both A & B tuners with same result.

Gonna plug my old Echo back in to see if it's OK with that, any ideas in the meantime?

I just re-connected my Echo to check the dish/lnb, and it's working fine, but when I connect my lnb to the dreambox I get 'Nothing Connected' showing in the Tuner setup menu for Tuner A & Tuner B?

I use a 36v motor, currently using my Echo to move the dish, is there a seting in the db i need to change? or has the dish have to loop through the echo first (as i am trying just to connect it to the db on Astra at moment)?

When setting up tuners select tuner A go through the options and select advanced this should give you futher options for satellites and lnb.
Or menu - setup - service searching - tuner configuration.

See thread #7

It is not message but setting. Press OK ,Tuner A highlighted, and change configuration mode from not connected to either simple or advanced!

Sorry for delay - just took car for MOT, at least that passed OK

back to dm8000

When I have this up on screen:

Tuner A: BCM4501 (internal) (DVB-S2)
nothing connected

I press OK on remote, then a menu comes up 'Reception Settings'

with just one item showing in the menu which says:

Configuration Mode nothing connected

If I click OK when highlighting this item I get taken back to the menu which says:

Tuner A: BCM4501 (internal) (DVB-S2)
nothing connected

OK - Got another menu by pressing the right button (R/H side of OK)

Configuration Mode nothing connected

If I click OK when highlighting this item I get taken back to the menu which says:
instead of clicking ok, can you not change this status? left arrow/right arrow? Don't they include manuals with these STB's?

Just follow Post#9!

Thanks, I did, and still get 0 services.

I know the LNB is OK coz when I reconnect my echostar I get all channels availble for viewing.

Should I load a new image as the one in it must be the default that comes with the reciever.

The best way forward will be to flash your receiver with Nabilo Black Hole 0.10 and load recent satellite settings. That way you will not have to scan for the channels and any troubleshooting will be easier!

look at the start of DM8000 - some guides for you.

Tuner A: BCM4501 (internal) (DVB-S2)
nothing connected

with the blue (selection bar highlight) on 'nothing connected', press right arrow (next to OK) - should change to simple, then press again -> advanced.

Changing image won't make a difference - this part is in the flash memory - the satellite settings menu is the same in ALL images.

look at page 59 of the user manual
