I am thinking of buying a 9100 super but my problem is the location of my receiver. My sat box is downstairs and pc upstairs would i be able to connect the two wirelessly through a Belkin adapter or does it have to be through a cat5 cable? any help would be great, thanks Rob

have you tested the wifi if you have a good reception downstairs/upstairs? cat5 would depend on the router 100Mbps or 1Gbps (cat6). If the wifi would not work you could also look at ethernet over the powerline, if upstairs/downstairs are on the same circuit (using the same phase's). If mains is 2 phase line comming in to the house: no problem, if a 3 phase, you could have other phase pairs downstairs/upstairs

I had exactly the same situation and considered a number of options.

1) Use the system that plugs into mains sockets.

2) Use two wireless routers one acting as a bridge to the other

3) Move the wireless router downstairs and connect to the 9100 and telephone line. Then use a wireless USB dongle on the pc upstairs to connect to the router and internet.

4) Run a network cable.

I actually went for the most difficult and ran cable from the bedroom to the lounge. The job wasn't easy but I had a long length of CAT5 in the loft that I wanted to use. If I had failed I would have gone with option 3.

I am just successfully networked my tm6900.

I bought a netgear wireless game adaptor off e-b-a-y for £25.
Its pretty straightforward to set up:
1. set up a static ip address on the wireless adaptor via an ethernet cable. pick an ip address thats not going to be used by the router(i have chosen 192.168.1.20) for the adaptor as its unlikely to be used by anything else.
2.set a static ip address on the receiver - again choose one thats unlikely to get used by your router (I chose 192.168.1.25)
3. connect the game adaptor to the ethernet port of your receiver and you should be able to ping it over your wireless network.

Thanks Guy's.

So if i move my router downstairs and connect the DSL line the power cable and then a cat5/6 from router to the reciever

upstairs connect my wireless belkin adapter to the pc?

This should work!
