seems to me that CVS images are better - you don't have to wait for the authors to re-compile for something to be fixed. With a CVS, when its fixed, you download & install

u cant realy compare the 2 m8
cvs its a updated image as enigma gets bugs fixes (almost every day)
blackhole just get updates whem its realy important or major update cames out

you can make it as easy or as hard as you like, there's not alot that you will find in BH that can't be done with oozoon as i've said my oozoon image has been installed since January and yet is bang upto date

And if you really can't live without a blue panel sonic1 has shown you the way to that one.

There are literally scores of plugins now available to do everything you could ever need, whilst other boxes wait for stable software our boxes move forward at an incredible pace with perfectly stable software and ever more plugins.

Something new on the horizon is vtuner = tuner sharing, so oldfart, who knows you may soon be able to use my tuner to download your epg from Astra 2D :)

Stick with oozoon and you'll soon grow to love it as you learn how to enhanced it for your needs.

I got VERY pi$$ed off using Oozoon - spent a day setting up my dish, got all my motor settings in. Move the dish, then move it back - Oozoon said "what settings" .. gone!
Took 5 mins with BlackHole!

Can't blame the image for that m8, there's nothing complicated about satellite settings, it's just a text file, why didn't you just back up settings from BH and use them in oozoon ?

Just booted into flash (to prove a point) - Oozoon. Reloaded lists via DreamBoxEdit & even re-installed settings file. Not got any satellites/services/channels. Boo.hisss

Do it this way as long as your 'settings' file DOES actually contain your satellite settings !?

Copy your 'settings' file to /etc/enigma2 and then from telnet issue a 'killall -9 engma2' command.

These satellite settings of mine are about 4 years old now, they come originally from my 7025 then my 800 now my 8k.

It works m8 with any image :)

Harsh & unhelpful.
Took 3 re-boots for DM to behave.
Now, started again .. re-install of Oozoon.
Will go step by step.

I have had problems with BH recording ITV but have gone back to it and it now records ITV HD perhaps there's been an update. The other thing is I've been trying BA and I'm not sure whether it's this that causes the problem and also problems with medis player. I'm not using BA at present.

I've tried both images but find BH easier to use.

Use google m8 and maybe have a look around a few other boards, you will be amazed what is out there.

Don't be defeated and understand that it has taken the likes of dubious and myself years to get where we are.

How I still have a loving wife I will never know as I have spend not just days but weeks and months of my life playing with my dreambox's.

The most important thing I have ever learned is that reading and reading again is the way to get your head around this.

Trust me I am no expert and I am 100% self taught by pure determination of wanting to understand and get things working well for me.

No, if you install 'stable' you'll get the stable path if you install 'dev' you'll get the dev path !
