After reading about this box as an alternative to my DM7000 I decided to get one.

It arrived a few days ago with 250gb hdd, but I had problems getting it to run.

I read about the difficulties others had, and I was having similar problems. I put in the latest fw, 2371, but had mixed results. It seemed fine at first, but when I tried to configure the wifi, things changed. All the settings were lost; the wifi list displayed my two home networks, but later lost them.

The hdd also showed up at first but didn't register after trying to find the wifi service. I installed an earlier fw, but the result was the same. On rebooting the box just said it was loading, but never did.

After several attempts and reboots, I deduced that the problems are with the wifi. My router is with Three mobile broadband, as I live in the middle of nowhere and BT are no good in my area, so I thought the type of broadband may have been a problem.

I reinstalled the latest fw and all was well again. The hdd showed up, but said I had no space left. I formatted the disk and it showed up okay, with most of the space available. I tested it out and it recorded okay and played back fine.

I was trying to connect to wifi with a long (default) wep key, so decided to try a wpa/wpa2 key. Set this up on my router and the AZBox connected no bother. Everything runs fine.

Then tried following the helpful instructions given by Goran on loading plugins and addons, and seemed to be successful with that too. Just haven't managed to clear any channels yet, so I still have a bit of work/reading to do. I am not card sharing at this time, so maybe that's not good.

I hope this experience might be of some help to others who have had problems, especially with hdd or wifi.

Use this to clear everything that is hacked, like DigiTV on 1'W, a Romanian package on 5'E, Spanish one on 30'W, German on 23'E etc.etc.

U have the info [how to install and configure] written by me and others, like pr2 - right here.

Settings list must be OK! FTP the 3 files for channels to DISK2.

Reboot and restart the EMU + SDCXCas.

Good luck!

P.S. Yeah, also install and activate SCDXCas [via remote], which will fetch the fresh keys for MGcamd automatically... So, that's cool, if you have no CS...

Goran, thanks for the help. I FTPd the files you gave to DISK 2, replacing all the files, and they worked fine on 1W. Haven't tried anything else yet. I had downloaded SDCXCas, but it doesn't show up on the OpenXCas. It is in there as I can see it in FTP list. Should I be able to see it in OpenXCas list like mgcamd?

Also is there anything else in OpenXCas that I can use to clear channels without CS?

Thanks again. Results on 1W are better than my DM7000. AZBox is beginning to look like a good choice. :)

Files I just posted go to EMU -> OpenXCAS -> mgcamd folder.

Settings list files [3 of them] go to DISK2.

Edit the file module.seq to add SCDXCas.

It's in OpenXCAS folder.

Here is mine:

#MboxCAS
mgcamd
#incubusCamd
#CCcamCAS
#MultiCAS
#newcs
SCDXCas

Use Ultra Edit 32 or so. Do NOT use Notepad!!!

Good luck!:respect-051:

Yeah I got carried away, forgot I was exploring and replaced the files in mgcamd in EMu folder. :)

Didn't put any files in DISK2

Edit the file module.seq to add SCDXCas.

Tried this and rebooted but it didn't show. I'm done for tonight, I'll try again tomorrow. Thanks again. :respect-039:

I have mgcamd clearing now after reading this thread.

The only thing I was missing was the extra line for SCDXCas in module.seq.

I added the extra line as Goran suggested, didn't work, but I reinstalled and it now appears okay.

Cool to see!!!! ;)

Re. DISK2 - it's the 3 files for a setings list.

Use this one I will attach here, made by telesat, for the area he lives in and whatever he can get there.

Simply FTP those 3 files into your DISK2 - replace the old ones.

Then, is Settings -> Channel part edit the DiSEqC settings for your setup, then go to HOME -> TV -> Exit -> press the Right arrow on your remote to go to the Satellites -> to Menu button next to your Left arrow on your remote and then delete the satellites you do not need.

The rest you can edit, more or less, internally, via remote, as needed.

My advice: when you're off to take a show give the AZbox HD a commend to scan all your satellite positions once again.

Additionally, check the transponders you really want, to scan them additionally.

Then, edit your Favs, according to your preferences.

You can move the Favs via remote, delete them, etc.

Quite good, even if we do not have a great editor that works really well right now...

But, knowing telesat, in all fairness, it may very well come, one day...

In the meantime, we can make do like so...

That's how you get all you want!!! :)

Cheerio!

Forgot the file...:beatdeadhorse5::respect-applause-00

Btw, you can find the newest Sofrenic settings list files in this section of the great Satpimps forum!!!

And the RedBull's MGcamd files:respect-048: that I use to edit the MGcamd for AZbox HD, one can find on Minicat's forum, which is an offshoot of PB-Enigma forum.:respect-044:

Enjoy!:svengo:

I don't use DISEqC, I have a VBox to move my dish, so maybe I don't need these settings?

Thanks for these files and all of your other advice, it has been very helpful. Also the info on Minicats Forum, which I will try to find now, as we have torrential rain right now and I have no sat signal!

I've been trying this too and still with no success.

I've done everything listed here but no joy. I don't get the option for SCDXCas even though I've edited Module.seq.

What I do get is the channel clears for a brief second and then freezes with the screen showing SCRAMBLED.

Any ideas?

Sorted!! I had left my DIABLO cam in the slot which was causing problems.

Incidentally, I've since learned that to turn on/off auto update settings and other CAS settings, you do that by using MULTICAS. Hope this helps someone.
