Has anyone managed to make this work?
I am trying to use an xp pc to connect to azbox via an apple timecapsule but am getting nowhere.
I have never used ftp or telnet before but have done some reading but it's far from clear.
I can't use the wlan because although Az will see the network it won't connect so I am using ethernet and have downloaded plug ins etc without a problem.
I have enabled ftp and telnet on az and downloaded filezilla onto pc. I thought the pc would run filezila server but there doesn't seem to be any configuration available so i tried filezilla client, when i try to set this up using the ****** it returns eror messages, presumably the timecapsule blocking it.
As a starting point can someone at least confirm what I should be doing with the pc and the az which will leave me trying to sort out the router on it's own?
Thanks guys
I don't know what an apple timecapsule is but if you are in the PC world why do you try to use an apple stuff.
Purchase a true WiFi router and you will get no problem (for WiFi it needs to support B/G since Azbox doesn't support N).

pr2, the pc is a bit of a relic, got an imac and intend getting another later in the year. The time capsule is a 1tb hard drive and router in one box. It works very well for most things and has more than twice the range of the belkin i had. It runs n in b/g compatible mode.
I could still do with info on the set up on the pc and I can then play around with the tc.
It is you who ask to connect an XP PC to your apple stuff...
But if you are so happy with your Mac then you should be able to connect by your own... without help... :D
People using a PC may be don't know what an apple timecapsule is but they can connect there Az on the network, telnet and FTP without any problem... so not in the future but in the present with a good old XP PC. :D
I am joking... I don't want to start a polemic it's just a bit of humor!
I don't know the timecapsule so I never try to connect to it with a PC.
But has apple like to develop their own standard, has you say this stuff goes twice the range of the Belkin so there is perhaps a kind of booster. Try to disable it too, because booster also not comply with the B/G norms so the device must be compatible to be able to connect to boosted device.
Otherwhise for the FTP you need to enable it on the Azbox, via Home -> 11. Configuration -> Network service -> FTP
And you need to use the FileZilla Client not the server one. The server is the AZbox.... but indeed Azbox can also be a client via the FTP (Home -> 08. FTP)
FTP is a standard protocol so you can use it on any platform the same way.
It is also adviced to connect once via telnet to your Azbox and issue the passwd command to set a password on it. So you can also use the AZboxEdit program... damned another Windows PC software... but all Mac user have a MS Windows emulator installed on their Mac. :D

Hello just wanted to say I am connecting to my AZBox with my iMac.
I'm not sure what you want to do exactly, but I use Transmit ftp program to connect to AZBox and transfer files. I did have an Airport Extreme Base Station, but now use a simple Three router to connect to the internet. AZBox connects okay, using WPA/WPA2 not WEP, as there were many problems with this.
HDD can be a problem (I have a built in 250gb drive, which wasn't recognised at first until I got the AZBox to format it and all was well) and I wondered if this is maybe the problem. Can you activate just the Wifi part of the Capsule as a test or get AZBox to format it?
If I want to run PC programs I can do this successfully with VMFusion, (PC emulation) using XP.
Hope this is of some help. :)

sounds like you need to set-up filzilla client...under file menu open 'site manager' click new site...
Enter.. AZ box IP address
set 'log on type' to normal
enter Az box user name and password
connect...yer done!
