Deleting files and directories

How do I delete files and/or directories off my dm8k?
as I have created a new directory by ftp'ing the directory complete instead of just the files within it.

just right click in the directory inside your FTP program(i use flashFXP)and select delete.ian.

been using DCC, but will try something with a delete option on it as DCC only allows me to re-name.

simplest FTP is 'fireftp' - addon for firefox. But is doesn't do SFTP (but you don't need secure connection very often).
